My tips: This boss is different in that you can escape from it, but not at any time. First you have to knock it down. To do this, cause around 1500-2000 damage, which isn't hard if you use Quezacotl and Boost him up. But before you do that, make sure you are protected, as this thing can pack a punch. Draw-Cast Protect on each character and make sure to Stock Protect at least once each time you face it.
It has several attacks: a normal attack, where it jabs a character with one of its legs; 'Arm Crush', in which it picks up a character in its claws, pounds on their head a few times, then slams them back on the ground; 'Clash' is an attack which damages all party members and finally 'Ray Bomb', which is devestating, since it ignores Protect.
Summon Quezacotl while the other two Draw-Cast Protect and use Thunder on it.
Once it is knocked down and struggling to get up, escape or keep bashing away at it until you are sure all of its HP is gone to get 50 AP.
Apparently, you can destroy the X-ATM092, but I am not sure if this is true. If anyone has any information about whether this is true or not, please contact me at [email protected].
When running from it, never stay in one place too long, as it'll catch up with you and you'll have to fight it again.
There are two more places where I always seem to have to face it. The cliff side just before the Dollet Communication Tower and the bridge.
On the mountainside, you can keep your balance by tapping Walk, I read once, and on the bridge, if you run back just as the X-ATM092 jumps, you can also escape from that battle (never worked for me, though). I prefer to fight it those other two times, anyway, as it lets me Stock up on more Cures and Protects.
As you enter the Central Square, you will notice the stray from earlier. Press Square on it to make it run off, which also positively affects your SeeD rank.
Once you reach the beach, an FMV starts and that's you beaten it!
