HOW CAN I KNOW THAT I AM SAVED?
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life..." 1 John 5:13
Dear Friend,
The new birth is a miracle of God that takes place when a person trusts Christ as his Saviour. Briefly, the four essentials in God's great SALVATION are:
1. THE WORK OF CHRIST
By His death and resurrection, Christ has completed the work of redemption for us. Christ's work is perfect and complete, and it is His work that makes it possible for God to forgive us of our sins.
2. THE WORD OF GOD
In His Word, God has told us what Christ has done for us. Christ's work is likewise real and true.
3. OUR BELIEVING GOD'S WORD
When we believe God's Word, we receive all the benefits of Christ's work. Believing God's Word means believing precisely what God has said in His Word. If we do not believe, we shall receive nothing.
4. THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
When we believe God's Word, the Holy Spirit makes real in Us all that Christ has done for us. Our sins are forgiven. We are born again! The Bible says,
" Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God.. " 1 Peter 1:23
Because Christ's work is perfect and complete and because God's love for us is so great, God forgive us totally and unconditionally. God says that He will not even remember our sins any more. In His Word, God says,
" Their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.." Hebrews 10:17
God forgives us totally and completely
