SALVATION and REWARDS

Every Christian should clearly understand the difference between salvation and rewards. Here are the main differences: (1) Salvation is free, but rewards are earned; (2) We have salvation now, but we will receive rewards later, in Heaven.

Let us consider these differences.

1. SALVATION IS FREE, but Rewards are earned

The Bible says that eternal life is the free gift of God to those who trust Christ as Saviour. This gift cannot be earned and it cannot be bought. No person will ever be saved by his good works. The Bible says,

" For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is THE GIFT OF GOD!
Not of works, lest any man should boast."  EPHESIANS 2:8-9

SALVATION THRU JESUS CHRIST - God's free gift...

We receive the gift of eternal life when we receive the Lord Jesus as our Saviour.

Rewards are different from salvation in that rewards must be earned. Salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must work for rewards. Rewards are not for the unsaved but only for believers. How do we earn rewards? We earn them by faithfully serving the Lord Jesus.

2. WE HAVE SALVATION NOW,  but WE WILL RECEIVE REWARDS LATER

The Bible says that believers have salvation now. God's Word says. " He that has the Son has life. " This means that , if we have Christ, we have eternal life now.

Rewards are different in that we will receive them later, when we get to Heaven. All believers will one day stand before the Lord to be judged for the things they did after they were saved. If we have faithfully served the Lord Jesus, this will be a time of great joy for us as we receive our rewards.

REWARDS earned by Faithful Service ..
