GOD MADE JESUS CHRIST LORD OF ALL
The Bible tells us that, when Jesus returned to Heaven, God the Father gave Him the place of greatest honor. He set the Lord Jesus at His own right hand. He made Jesus Lord of all!
The position given to the Lord Jesus Christ is far above that anyone or any spiritual power in the universe. The Bible says that God has put " all things under His feet." This means that every creature is under His authority. Jesus Christ has all power in Heaven and in earth.
*** GOD SENT THE HOLY SPIRIT ***
Before He was crucified, the Lord Jesus told His disciples that He would soon be leaving them. But He promised them that He would pray to the Father and He would give them another Comforter who would abide with them always. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit.
The Bible had said that the Holy Spirit would not be given until Jesus was glorified. Only when the Lord Jesus had returned to Heaven and been exalted as Lord of all would the Holy Spirit be given . (John 7:39)
Jesus told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the coming of the Holy Spirit. On the Day of Pentecost, fifty days after Jesus rose from the dead, the disciples were gathered in an upper room. They had remembered Jesus ' promise and they were waiting for the Holy Spirit to come.
Suddenly, there was a sound from Heaven as a mighty, rushing wind. It filled the house where the disciples were. Tongues of fire sat on each of the disciples. They were filled with the Holy Spirit!.
The Holy Spirit had come; therefore the disciples knew that Jesus Christ had been glorified and that He was now Lord of all. Speaking of the Jews on the day of Pentecost, Peter said, "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assurely , that God has made that same Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ." Acts 2:36
***JESUS CHRIST-THE HEAD OF A NEW RACE ***
God the Father has not only made Jesus Christ to be Lord of all, but He has also made Him to be the Head of a new family. This new family is called " the children of God."
Now there are two families in the world. Each of these families has a head. Adam is the head of the sinful family which he produced, and Jesus Christ is the Head of the new family called the children of God.
***WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN***
Each one of us, when we were born, became a member of Adam's sinful race. Not a single person in Adam's sinful family is acceptable in God's sight. Not one person in Adam's race is righteous in God's sight. Not one person in Adam's family has met God's standard. The Bible says,
"There is none righteous, no NOT ONE... For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:10,23
How can we get out of Adam's sinful family and into Christ 's family?
There is only one way-we must be born again. The Lord Jesus said, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." John 3:3
What does it mean to be "born again"? It means to be born into God's family by a spiritual re-birth. We cannot be born again physically, but we can be born again spiritually. The new birth is God's work in response to true repentance and saving faith on our part.
