Chapter 1 – Invitation
We find ourselves looking at a movie star building his career with movies and
commercials. Johnny Cage, taught by supreme monks and fighters around the
planet, proved that his skill was real in his movies. Although some people
really got to him in saying that some of his stuff was purely shit. Johnny Cage
sat out to prove these morose people wrong. During one commercial, a man came
through the crowd and handed Cage an old paper scroll. Cage read it and a big
smile came across his face. He told his producers that he will be taking a
vacation and come back with some ideas for another movie. The producer didn’t
really want him to leave by they had no choice but to get over it and go back to
what they were doing. Cage packed up some clothes and some electronic equipment
such as cell phones and PDA’s.
In another place on planet Earth, a guy is ripping off this jewelry from this
maximum security museum. He goes by the name of Kano, Leader of the Black
Dragon. Kano is wanted in 35 countries for murder and grand larceny. Vicious as
he seems, this particular mission that Kano was acting was a surprising one.
Kano saw a shadow go around him and all of the sudden Kano was knocked to the
ground. He got up and saw this being dressed in black or was black for that
matter. Anyways, Kano couldn’t really make of what he looked like. The being
told him that he knew a place that had riches beyond anyone’s imagination. “I’m
all ears, mate.” Kano said with some enthusiasm.
“You will meet a great sorcerer by the name of Shang Tsung. Find him and there
you will find great riches.” The shadow being said.
The being then vanished into then air upon finishing what he was to do. Kano got
up and dusted himself off and dropped the jewelry he had in his possession onto
the floor and thought that it was just child’s play. Kano exited the museum
without anything and ventured onto to find Shang Tsung. A young woman by the
name of Sonya Blade followed Kano from this point but stay hidden. She also
wanted to find out where this place was to and who Shang Tsung was. Sonya is an
agent of the Special Forces. She has been assigned to go after Kano before with
her partner but her partner was brutally murder in front of her by Kano, so not
only that Kano is her prime target, Kano is her arch enemy that she swears to
take down, alive or dead. She prefers dead.
Meanwhile, Shang Tsung, a powerful shape shifting sorcerer, was at the Shaolin
Temple battling a young warrior who was too young to see that he met certain
doom. Shang Tsung easily defeated the young Shaolin and stole his soul. Upon his
death, the older brother of the victim was notified by Shaolin monks. Liu Kang,
a master at martial arts visited the temple irate that his young brother was
killed.
“How could you let him fight when he wasn’t ready!?” Kang yelled.
“He chose his own path like you did.” The Monk leader answered.
“You could have stopped him from dying!” Kang replied a little better in his
feelings.
“I cannot interfere with his chosen destiny and you don’t either.” The Monk also
replied.
Liu Kang continued the conversation about choosing your own destiny. He then
asked for the killers name and the Monk distinctly said that it was Shang Tsung.
Kang didn’t mush know him at all. All of the sudden, thunder rumbled. A cloaked
figured appeared and started walking towards Liu Kang. The Monks all knelt down
in front of the being as he was indeed a god.
“You do not foresee the danger that you or your destiny is aware of.” The
cloaked figure said.
“Who are you to tell me what my destiny is?” Kang said with a little sarcasm.
“Maybe its something that I know you do not.” The cloaked figure answered back.
“Forgive me Lord Raiden. Kang lost his brother and wanted to know who did it
that’s all.” The leader of the Monk graveled.
Kang busts out laughing that this could be Lord Raiden and went to touch him.
“This can’t be Lord Raiden, he would never appear in hum… AAHHHH!” Kang was cut
off because as he touch Raiden, a bolt of lightning struck Kang’s arm.
“So you really are Lord Raiden. Why have you come here and what is this thing
that you know that I don’t?” Kang said straightening up his embarrassment.
“I know that Shang Tsung is hosting a Tournament of battles.” Raiden said
“Yeah, so what… a tournament.” Kang answered.
“Yes, a Tournament. But this Tournament is not an earthly tournament as it’s a
contest for Earth to be legally taken over and Shang Tsung is there for the
contest to win in his favor and that favor is not the good thing.” Raiden said
in a mouthful.
Kang got the gist of the point that Raiden was getting across and said that
Raiden was right. Kang had to defeat Shang Tsung for his brother and also to
save Earth. Raiden and Kang were transported to Shang Tsung’s Island that was in
another dimension that had no coordinates. Only a select few knew it.
Officially, it was called Uncharted Territory.
