When I found out I was pregnant with my first child I was A junior in high school. Some teen moms are not that lucky.
Some May choose to tough it out. Others, like myself, cant handle the pressure of waking up that early, throwing up, then going to school where you can get critisized all day. At my high school, All the kids were the type of people with their noses so high in the air it was unbeilevable. As for the teachers, well, im surprised the made it through elementry school themselves.

Your choices depend on 1: what your parents will allow. 2: What is available where you live. 3: What
you need.

By far, education IS important whether you beleive it or not. I say this because someday you will want a better job and you will need to have at least something equivialant to a high school diploma to get there. Not only that but you will get more respect from peers, have many more carreer choices and you should do it for your child to.

You have more choices than what you think though. Staying in school where you are right now is really a good option especially if you are close to graduating. Talk to your guidence counsouler and Let him/her know right away that your pregnant. That way your teachers will be informed that there will be many a day coming up that you might run out of class because of many reasons. My second opinion would be to talk to your guidence counsoulor about any half/day type of programs that your school might offer for you. Staying in your high school might be hard because of the peer pressure and your emotions but if you get through it , it will be nice to turn around and say to yourself, "I did that!" With a big smile on your face.

As far as I know, there are such programs out there that are just for Mothers our age. Its like an alternative school just for pregnant teenagers. They offer alot, including daycare for other children you might have for while your there. You stayed enrolled in the school for your whole pregnancy term and for a while after that. Besides normal education they teach you labor tips and what-not. I highly recommend this because your grades go down when your sick from high school, here, they understand.

No matter what you choose to do, try to get a diploma. I dropped out. That was a very bad choice. Eventually I got my G.E.D and now im going to college. There is homeschooling, and other alternitives, talk to your counsouler about all of them and see what is right for you. You are important and so is your future.
