Subject: Exporting from A4Proxy
234.38.237.85--->
Message: Well, I finally got around to switching over from MP to A4Proxy. So far so good. The one negative aspect about A4 is the way it handles its proxy list. It keeps it in a file called aproxy.cdb, which is encoded in such a way as to make it unreadable. My question to the A4 experts out there is this. Has anyone figured out a way to export the proxy list in a plain text format?

Can anyone hack that file? Would you ask any hackerz or specialists to break the security of its treasure box?

Message: Well, I say to hell with their list. Make your own, call it proxy list. Open in note pad, do a copy and paste routine. This way you can import or export. I find using A4's list, the proxies die fast. Best thing find your own proxies. Why waste time with their nonsense.

Simply use the options "text capture" and
"autoscroll".

I just want to reuse my own proxy list, which is not provided from A4P site for any purposes.

Message: Bert,
Thanks for that post on SnagIt. I just retrieved a copy, but haven't had a chance to install it yet. Can you imagine, a lousy 3 MEG app just to copy a lousy proxy list. FYI, cracks.am has the helper file without having to turn on javascript to get it.

Message: 3 MEG is for the full version of the program. It includes a useless picture editor. You should go for the core install. It is still a big program if you just want to use it to copy a proxy list, but it saves you 1 MEG.

Message: Anon,
Hey, that's great news. Now if we can convince you and your friend to make it available to the rest of us, A4 will really be rockin'. It would be nice to work with different subsets of proxies for different purposes. That may be possible now by running several instances of A4 in seperate directories, but that sounds like a lot of trouble. If your friend has an understanding of the file structure, perhaps he can share that information also.
Bert,
Thanks for that SnagIt info too. Before downloading the full app, I was wondering if the "lite" version supported scrolling text windows. It sounds like you're saying it does.

he will release the source code for the program, which he told me is very simple it just exports the database to a textfile in a list like proxy:port. heh i actually asked him to do a fancy one in which we can do sort, export selected only,import,etc.. he would'nt do it tho :-(
again, better than nothing ;-)

From now on, I'm gonna have to refer to you as MR. Anonymous! Is he planning on releasing both the source and executable, or just the source code?
Jeff,
Someone on this board posted the link to a German site that had a cracked full retail version 2.5. That link was the one that got Mishkin all bent out of shape and threatening to delete threads and close the board. I would give you the link, but after rechecking the site today, I couldn't find A4 listed. Although, that doesn't mean it isn't there somewhere or linked offsite. If you all want to take a chance on old man Mishkin popping another hemorrhoid, I'll repost it.

I will say that a group by the name "Mentallo Warez" has a cracked version but finding it is your problem. Again, let's keep this board alive!
Juan Tamad, thanks for finding someone who who will enable us to export a proxy list from a4proxy. That's the kind of info we're looking for!!!

was THIS thread sending it that much traffic?
or do the A4P guys read threads here and complained to the da.ru admin?
(This latter reason may be why Mishkin has had to clamp down, too!)
Any other suggestions? (And let's see how long those stay up!!)
