Subject: MultiProxy 1.1 not working?
Message: How do I know if Multiproxy is working???
I can view web pages but whenever I go on a website that can detect my IP address it shows me my actual IP adress instead of the one of the proxy server. I think I have all the proper settings and I disabled cookies, Active X, Java ETC. When it's working is it supposed to display something in the "Connection status:" box?

Message: forget about the whistles & bells, flashing lights etc: If it shows your 'IP' its "NOT WORKING" pure & simple.
Try HTTPort, may be you'll have better luck.

Message: I followed the instruction in the "Help" to set up mproxy. Then I go to "anonymity checker". It still show my real IP.
Then I go through again with anonymizer.com. It doesn't show my real IP.

12/04/2000 16:33:08 | MultiProxy 1.1 Shuts Down Browsing
Message: I installed MP1.1 as directed, setting proper proxy and HTTP settings. Worked for 30 minutes. Verified this at anonymizer.com. Then all access stopped. Had to shut down MP1.1 and restore original setting to get on line. What happened?

Message: I have the same problem with MP stopping after working correctly. My problem is after 20-30 mins transmissions start being routed through port 0, which is blocked by a firewall rule, and the page can't load. If I reboot the process repeats. Everything is set right and MP works fine to that point.

Message: I also have the same problem. I installed as directed 127.0.0.1:8088 and when I do a anonymity check I see my REAL IP. I am using the list of 'anonymous' only proxies.
On W2K SP1 with IE5.5 using NIS 2.51.
I quite often see the following in my firewall log which suggests that MP1.1 is note being used:
Remote: www.asite.com:http
Local: Myhost:<port no>
Other times I see:
Remote: localhost:http-proxy1
Local: localhost:http-proxy1
This then suggests that MP1.1 is working.
Hmmmm ... any ideas???

Message: I also have the same problem. Similar set up (Win2K SP1, IE5.5), but use ZoneAlarmPro instead of NIS.
From other messages on this forum looks like IE5.5 has problems (maybe also Win2K SP1) 8(

Message: Billy,
Good/Bad to hear that you're in the same boat as me. I will install OPERA and see how it goes.
It looks from Mike's post that the common factor is IE55.

Message: you need to test all the proxies for anonymity first - only about 10% of the so called anon proxies that you can download here are anonymous - also make sure you have the connect via "anonymous proxies only" ticked
