Using MP :
To use MP with your browser, you must configure it (IE 5.x or Netscape 4.x/6) using a proxy server adr 127.0.0.1 port 8088 (to plug it with MP). Internet should work on your browser now.

Using a Socks application (mIRC, MSN Messenger, ICQ ...) :
To connect your socks application with MP you need Socks2http (http://www.totalrc.net) -you can remove the spy files with ad-aware 3.61 (www.lavasoft.de)- or HTTP-tunnel (http://http-tunnel.com).
To make it works you must configure Socks2http/HTTP-tunnel using a proxy server adr 127.0.0.1 port 8088 (to plug it with MP) ; and then you must configure your socks program : using socks firewall, socks5, adr 127.0.0.1, port 1080 (to plug it with Socks2http/HTTP-tunnel).
It should work with Napster to, but for me it doesn't want.

The Napster's case :
I've worked a lot of hours to finaly find a way to make Napster work good with MP!!!
The method is Napster > SocksCap32 > HTTP-Tunnel > Multiproxy , I explain it just below.
First you need to configure MP and Socks2http/HTTP-tunnel as shown above.
Then you need another application called SocksCap32 v2b6 (http://www.socks.nec.com/reference/sockscap.html) ; in the settings dialog box make HTTP-Tunnel your Socks5 server (adr 127.0.0.1, port 1080) and have all names be resolved remotely.
Now you must configure SocksCap32 to work with the application you would like to use (Napster in this case). In the main window click on the New toolbar button. Lets configure Napster to work with SocksCap32. The profile name is the name you call the application by, in our case just type in napster. Next, you must find the executable the program uses. You can do this by looking up properties on the applications start menu shortcut. On my machine napster.exe is in C:\Program Files\Napster\Napster.exe Browse for the exe and put the path in the command line edit box. Finally leave default options in the working directory edit box. Click on OK.
We are almost there! Now start MP then HTTP-Tunnel (if they're not already running). Whenever you would like to use the application with SocksCap32/HTTP-Tunnel, you must do the following:
Start MP
Start HTTP-Tunnel
Start SocksCap32
Select Napster in the SocksCap32 window
Click on the Run! toolbar button. Note that if you run the application from the start menu or a desktop icon, it will not work, you must always start it from within SocksCap32.
In Napster's preference panel make sure you have selected "No Proxy" and/or "No Firewall" in the applications setting/preferences. If you try to use a proxy setting and SocksCap32, Napster will not work!

Have a lot of fun !!

Http-tunnel and socks2http do the same things.
I prefer Http-tunnel cause there is no ad-banner and there is more information with Http-tunnel that's all

You can hide the socks2http ad-banner that is left after using ad-aware with Winhide(only 17 kb). www.sover.net/~whoi/Sofffffffware.html

Is there any software that automatically detects all information on the secure firewall a given pc in behind? For example, I am in a college dorm and am behind a damn firewall which prevents me from using napster. I haven't tried that advice yet about using those programs in that order, but I will. If it doens't work though, I'd like to know what else is there for a lonely soul who has high speed capabilities but nothing to explore those talents with. Thanks to whoever posted that napster thing, even if it doesn't work, but I'll try nonetheless.

Ive got MP working and so far so good. I am connecting through HTTP proxys. Ive tested them with Proxy Judge. So what next. Im puzzled by how these different connections are made and with which software. Socks servers, Wingate, Smtp, and SSL. Does a connection with a socks proxy need additional software on my machine ? Something like Sockcap,Sockschain or HTTpTunnell or Socks2http ??
Is connecting with a Wingate proxy the same as connecting to an HTTP proxy on port 80 but just using another port 23 I think ?? Do I need software on my machine ??
How do I make an SSL connection to the proxy server do I use HTTPort or Alstone ? I know when Im connecting with a secure site because my browser tells me but must I initiate with a proxy ?
I know its a lot of questions Im caught in deep fog any help appreciated.

Pollux,
Although I am able to log onto Napster and download files without a problem I notice that the inverse isn't true. Most of the users trying to download files from my computer time out. It appears that 5% or so make a connection. Any ideas? Just want to maintain the spirit of file sharing...
