To author:

I really enjoy your software, it really fits the
need for anonimity. But there is one more thing lacking. I think it won't be too hard for you to add, considering that all the needed code you already have. What i am talking about is proxy-chains. An option for linking 2 or more proxies to make it harder to trace the source.

Please consider adding this feature,

big thanks,

1)

I also vote for a chaining option, with the number of links in chain to be set by user option!!!!

2)

When I upgraded Multiproxy 1.0 to 1.1, I got a severe delay in proxy response, trebled "ping" times in options, proxy servers list table.

Is this a coincidence, or have others noted it too?

Keep up your great work, Mishkin! You keep coding, and we'll keep suggesting new features!

Using a program I found thanks to posts on the pages of this forum, I discovered that almost all of the Anonymous Proxies listed in the Anonynous Proxy List section pass on the REMOTE_HOST I.P. of the user.

For me this means that the ISP that I connect to the Internet with is always disclosed.

Am I correct in assuming that regardless of how many of these "semi-transparent" proxies are "chained" together this information will remain the "source" REMOTE_HOST and not change to the I.P of the additional added proxies.

If so then how much more un-tracable does the user become.

Completely non-transparent Proxies from what I understand are hard to come by.

Can any-one suggest where such Proxies could be found.

Happy Hunting.

Mr. NZ:

ALL the proxies given in these pages MUST be tested for anonymity, on a REGULAR basis. I always keep a second browser window open for exactly this purpose. You do have to look, but there are several fast and anonymous proxies on these pages and listed on other sites around the Net.

I was disturbed the other night when I attempted to use a certain video chat room and discovered my IP was there for all to see. That bothered me, but I believe the program was not properly configured to connect thru the proxy. I have contacted the software maker and am awaiting a reply. I will post back upon response.

Well, two reasons why proxy chaning is not implemented yet:

1) I don't think it's technically possible without access to the actual proxy server configuration (i.e. it has to be configured on the proxy server side); if anybody knows how to do it, e-mail me: [email protected];

2) chaning proxies will slow down your surfing -- since it has to pass through several servers, it will be that many times slower;

RE: My post of 11/15 -

I contacted the maker of the video conference s-ware and was told it curently does not include support for use on a proxy and they have no plans to develop any support. Howz about dat! Does naybody know if NetMeeting is any better, or any other VC-ware for that matter. Thank you.

P.S. Mr. NZ: what might the name of this program be for revealing outbound headers? THX!

1) i can't really help, because i don't have any technical details on that
2) i think if there WILL be such option, the ones who want REAL anonimity will use it, and suffer the slowliness, and others will use the regular mode.

198.112.1.28---> Message:
Chain...yes. You have my vote, but it is not a particularly enthusiastic vote. What I would much rather see is options to MANUALLY or AUTOMATICALLY configure a chain (with, of course, the number of hops). A manual configuration could have several benifits, including making it appear to a particully offensive site, for instance, that you are from wherever you decide you want to be from. Of course the present configuration should be available too. I am very new to the use of proxy servers and thus far it appears to me that many of them are unstable as far as their availibility. If this is true, then maybe manual chaining is not possible.

once you figure out how to code it,

make it an OPTION

Then users can decide when to make the trade-off on speed vs anon security

chaining cam sometimes speed up the connection,
tunneling through shortcuts.

it is easy to do it if a proxy server supports such feature
www(dot)searchlores(dot)org/hpofaq(dot)htm

Warning:
proxy chaining can be abused so if proxy admin missed to disable it he might do not only that but
disable using proxy in regular fashion (if he is watching log files he will notice it).

I've tested some proxies from the list and some
5-10 support chaining

another copy of the HTTPort 1.1 program runing independently in memory or (analog-x port mapper)
settings:
proxy3:8080 via localhost:8081 map to localhost:8082

localhost:8082

this works if proxy2 supports SSL protocol for ALL

208.46.44.12---> Message:
an easy way to do it is get 2 versions of multiproxy and get proxomitron and put multyproxy on different ports also proxomitron so all three multproxy 1 and 2 and proxomitron now all you have to do is get different proxies for each one program. so multiproxy1 and multiproxy 2 have to have different proxies now in proxomitron go into the proxy menu and put this in http://multiproxy1:port/http://multiproxy2:port/http://www.somewebserver.com/
for example :
http://192.31.174.2/http://proxy.magusnet.com/-_-http://www.microsoft.com
Note - after the magusnet proxy you have to put /-_-http://
