Subject: Multi-Proxy possibly a Trojan?

Message:
The problem of MP crashing when checking an imported list of anon proxies is fixed, but there's a new, potentially more troubling problem:

MP wouldn't let go when checking a list of 66 anon proxies- it got stuck at 62, waiting for the other 4. I had to close it. I restart it, and am told there's already an app using the port I setup for MP. Huh? So I look at all the processes running on my machine using a process/thread checker. Even after closing MP I see two instances of MP still running, and niether will terminate, no matter what I do. What's worse, neither show up in the Task List or Task Manager.

So, this leads me to wonder if MP is deliberately leaving itself running so it can do stuff behind your back, even after you think you've closed it. The System Tray icon disappears, and MP no longer shows in the Task Manager or Task List, but there it is, still running. Meanwhile, my firewall shows two instances of MP, still accessing the Internet at various intervals, like 15 minutes after I closed the program. :-/

What's going on there? Why am I unable to terminate those processes? Could it be there are two running so one can restart the other if I try to terminate?

MultiProxy is not trojan. If you don't beleive me, how about this -- it's been out since May 2000 and if it was a trojan somebody would've definitely discovered that by now, don't you think?

As for why you see intstances of MultiProxy still running when you try to terminate it -- it is a multithreaded application and one the threads won't quit gracefully when forced. It's a known bug and I decided to make it stable and not crash first and then work on everything else later on.

Fair enough, just concerned.
