Hi everyone,

When Multiproxy stopped working a few days ago, I checked the All-nettols.com site, http://www.all-nettools.com/cgi-bin/pr

I read the message posted by the server admin and decided to contact him. What I heard was very surprising. It appears that the Multiproxy author (Mike Malahov from Russia, according to the domain registration records) NEVER asked the All-Nettools.Com owners (TamoSoft) for the permission to use their script in Multiproxy. The All-Nettools.Com admin said that the script was severely abused by Multiproxy users, and they were unpleasantly surprised to learn that someone used their script to promote his program. He also regretted that TamoSoft had to close the service that was available to everyone for over 3 years because of Multiproxy.

I personally think that what Mr.Malahov did is disgusting.

Bye-bye Multiproxy ...

Dear Andy, I would like to simply point out couple of things:

1. Everything that is availabe on Internet is free for all and you don't need to ask permission to use it. That's the whole purpose of the Internet -- free exchange of information. I'm surprised that you don't realize it. Or do you have a habit of contacting the admins of every web site out there before you actually visit the site??

2. Could you please elaborate a little more on how exactly was I using All-Nettools.Com to "promote" MultiProxy??

3. Webmaster of this site and author of MultiProxy is not the same person.

Dear MultiProxy:

As for your first point: yes, everything on the Net is available for everyone as long as:

i. You don't abuse the resource
ii. You don't use a free resource for commercial purposes.

Multiproxy definitely abused the script at All-Nettools.Com to the extent that the webmaster had to close it for everyone. So now all the people who have been using the script for several years are very grateful to you, guys. You fucked up the resource I liked, so big thanks from me too.

As for your second point: Multiproxy is a GUI wrapper for the script. So you guys take what other people did, wrap it up, and offer as a product, and ask users to "donate". Not very nice.

As for your third point: not the same person .. well, so what?

Just out of curiousity: do you think it was nice not to tell the guys at All-nettools.Com that the program was [ab]using their script? Or you think it's ok to do people like that?

Dear Andy,

Where exactly is the line between use and abuse? I was under impression that the whole perpose of All-Nettools.Com website was to provide "Net Tools" to the public? Or was it used by MultiProxy in a way that wasn't intended?

MultiProxy is NOT a GUI wrapper for All-Nettools.Com script. I won't even try to argue with you on this one, it is simply ridiculous.

By the way, I still haven't heard from All-Nettools.Com guys themselves. Why is that?

In any case, I'm removing anonymity testing using external web-sites in the next version. It has proven to be slow and unreliable anyway.

Andy,

1) You yourself obviously have tested multiproxy so at some point you thought it was a good idea, so quit crying.

2) If you offer a service for free, and don't expect it to be over-used, you are a moron.

3) The deveopers of multiproxy are not getting paid to spend time developing the product and may have lives outside of pleasing your sorry a$$, so they are asking for a reason to keep developing the product and donations make it much more reasonable to continue to develop stuff for a$$es like yourself instead of spending time with friends or family. They probably don't make anything near what they should from these donations.

4)you probably don't have any friends, so disregard rip #3 and shut the hell up so that the developers aren't wasting more of thier time dealing with your crap.

Multiproxy is a great product, but more details need to be made publicly available about what connections are established and the type of messages that are passed back and forth to determine the anonymity of a server. this will help people stuck behind strong firewalls at work figure out a way to use the product and get many more people to donate some money in return for making such a great product available.
