--Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about; That Solomon shall be the name for him, and in his days I will give peace and quietness upon Israel. 22:10 Who shall build a house unto My name; and who shall be to Me for Son, and I will be to him for Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel till everlasting.

to the eternity : Hebrews 7:28 For the law appoints men high priests having weakness; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, [appoints] the Son, having been consecrated to the eternity.

after the category of Melchizedek : Hebrews 7:1 That this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham as he was returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, 7:2 to whom also Abraham apportioned a tenth part of all; [was] first of all, being interpreted of his name, king of righteousness, then after that also king of Salem, which is king of peace. 7:3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither the beginning of days nor the end of life; but having been made like the Son of God, abides a priest perpetually.

--For it became him, through whom [are] all the things, and by whom [are] all the things, having brought many sons into glory, to accomplish the prince of author of their salvation because of the sufferings.

I Corinthians 3:9 For we are God's fellow-workmen; ye are God's husbandry, God's building. 3:10 According to the grace of God which has been given to me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation, but another builds upon it. But let each see how he builds upon it. 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay besides that which [is] laid, which is Jesus Christ.

God's husbandry, God's building
knowing that ye have been redeemed, not by corruptible [things, as] silver or gold, out of your inherited foolish behavior, but by precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, [the blood] of Christ

half the blood : Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 9:14 how much rather shall the blood of the Christ, who by the eternal Spirit offered himself spotless to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works for serving [the] living God?

he put in basons : 1 Corinthians 11:25 This cup is the new covenant in my blood; this do ye, as often as ye drink, for remembrance of me.

is the new covenant : 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 1:17 For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, Now the righteous shall be made alive out of faith.

in my blood : Isaiah 53:5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

For as often as : 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

ye eat this bread, and drink this cup : 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

of the promise : 3:4 of his coming

until : 10:39 whom even they had slain hanging upon a tree. 10:40 This God had raised up the third day, and had given him to become manifest.

whom even they had slain hanging upon a tree : 26:23 that the Christ must suffer, that he first out of the resurrection of the dead shall proclaim light to the people and to the Gentiles.

the third day : co 15:3 that Christ had died for our sins according to the Scriptures; 15:4 And that he had been buried, and that he has been raised up the third day according to the Scriptures.

and had given him : h 1:15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: 1:16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 1:17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 1:18 What then? only that in every way, whether in pretence or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and therein I rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

to become manifest : Isaiah 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

For having been spoken : II Corinthians 3:12 we use great plainness of speech: 3:13 And not as Moses, [which] put a vail over his own face, so that the children of Israel could not fix their eyes unto the purpose of what is annulled:

every commandment : Romans 7:12 the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

according to [the] law : Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast, or of the new moon, or of the sabbaths: 2:17 things which are a shadow of what is to come; but Christ is the substance.

also the book : Romans 7:6 But now we have been rendered to be none effected >from the law, being dead in that upon which we were effected, then also for us to serve is in the newness of the Spirit and not according to the oldness of the letter.

and all the people : Romans 2:29 But a Jew is whom in the inward; and circumcision is, of the heart, in spirit, never literal;

saying : I Thessalonians 1:5 that our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with much assurance; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.

he sprinkled : Revelation 1:5 the one who loves us, and had washed us from our sins in his own blood,

in like manner with the blood : Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of the things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Hebrews 4:9 There remains then a sabbatism to the people of God. 4:10 For he that has entered into his rest, he also has rested from his works, as God did from his own. 4:11 Therefore let us use diligence to enter into that rest, that no one may fall after the same example of the unpersuadedness. 4:12 For the word of God [is] quickening and effectual, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and penetrating to [the] differing of soul and spirit, both of joints and marrow, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of [the] heart: 4:13 And there is not a creature unapparent before him; but all things [are] naked and laid bare to his eyes, before whom to us the word. 4:14 Having therefore a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the confession. 4:15 For we have not a high priest not able to sympathise with our infirmities, indeed having been tempted; [he is] in resemblance according to all aspects [of us], sin apart. 4:16 Let us approach therefore with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace for seasonable help.

Jude 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference, 1:23 but others save with fear, snatching [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ

Psalms 134:1 Behold, now bless the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD; those who standing in the house of the LORD, in the courtyard of the house of our God during the nights, 134:2 lift up your hands toward the sanctuaries, and bless the LORD.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God had prepared beforehand in order that we might walk in them.

For we are His workmanship : Psalm 114:8 Who having turned the rock into pools of standing waters, and the cliff into streams of waters.

having been created in Christ Jesus : Galatia 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

unto good works : 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

which God had prepared beforehand in order that we might walk in them : 1 Timothy 6:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 6:19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

II Timothy 3:12 And all indeed who desire to live piously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

And all indeed : John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

who desire to live piously : 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

in Christ Jesus : 1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye had heard that antichrist is coming, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us: but [they went out], that they might be made manifest that they all are not of us.

will be persecuted : John 16:1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be caused to stumble. 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

II Timothy 2:11 [It is] a faithful saying: For if we be dead with [him], we shall also live with [him]: 2:12 if we endure, we shall also reign together; if we deny, he also will deny us;

[It is] a faithful saying : II Tim 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

For if we be dead with [him] : 2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

for Christ : Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

we shall also live with [him] : II Tim 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

if we endure : Colossians 1:11 Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

we shall also reign together : Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

if we deny : Colossians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

he also will deny us : L 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

I Corinthians 16:14 Let all your works in love be accomplished.

Let all your works : h 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and questionings: 2:15 that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world, 2:16 holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain neither labor in vain.

in love : h 2:1 If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions, 2:2 make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind; 2:3 [doing] nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself; 2:4 not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

be accomplished : 4:13 I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me.

Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of endurance, in order that having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise. 10:37 For yet a very little while he that comes will come, and will not delay.

For ye have need of endurance : Colossians 3:3 For ye had died, and your life have been hidden with Christ in God. 3:4 When Christ, [who is] our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.

in order that having done the will of God : 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

ye may receive the promise : Hebrews 11:16 for He has prepared for them a city.

For yet a very little while : 24:36 But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, except my Father only.

But of that day and hour no one knows : 25:13 Be ye vigilant therefore, for ye know neither the day, nor the hour wherein Son of man comes.

neither the angels of heaven : 1 Cor 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Spirit teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

except my Father only : 1 Thessalonians 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

he that comes will come : Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

and will not delay : 1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace would sanctify you wholly; and your whole spirit and soul and body would be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 5:24 Faithful [is] He that calleth you, Who also will do [it].

Beloved, take not [as] strange the fire [of persecution] which has taken place amongst you for [your] trial, as if a strange thing was happening to you; but as ye have share in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, that in the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exultation

Luke 21:28 Whereas, to become of beginning of these, look up, and lift up your heads; because your redemption draws nigh.

to become of beginning of these : 8:35 what shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall oppression, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 8:36 Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

oppression : 24:21 For then shall be great oppression, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

distress : I Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice evermore. 5:17 Pray without ceasing. 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

persecution : 13:9 But take ye heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in synagogues shall ye be beaten; and before governors and kings shall ye stand for my sake, for a testimony unto them. 13:10 And the gospel must first be preached unto all the nations. 13:11 And when they lead you [to judgment], and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye; for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit. 13:12 And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.

famine : Philippians 4:12 I know how to be abased, and I know also how to abound: in everything and in all things have I learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in want.

nakedness : Philippians 3:7 Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ. 3:8 Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,

peril : 24:6 But ye shall be about to hear of battles and hearsays of battles: take heed [that] ye be not stirred: for all is far from happening, yet it is not at all the end. 24:7 For nation shall rise upon nation, and kingdom upon kingdom; and there shall be famines, and plagues, and earthquakes in divers places. 24:8 All these [are] the beginning of the pangs of labor.

But ye shall be about to hear of battles and hearsays of battles : I John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as He hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

take heed [that] ye be not stirred : II Tim 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of discretion.

for all is far from happening : I Thes 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. 5:20 Do not set at naught the gifts of prophecies. 5:21 Approve all things, withold the virtuous; 5:22 Keep off from all worthless form.

yet it is not at all the end : II Cor 3:16 Nevertheless when he may turn to the Lord, the vail is taken away. 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit: surely where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] freedom.

For nation shall rise upon nation, and kingdom upon kingdom : 6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 6:4 And there went out another horse [that was] red: and [power] was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

and there shall be famines : 6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and [see] thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

and plagues : 6:7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

and earthquakes in divers places : 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

All these [are] the beginning of the pangs of labor : Philippians 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

sword : Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

look up : Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 3:21 Who shall change our lowly body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

lift up your heads : Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

your redemption : Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies because of His Spirit that dwelleth in you.

draws nigh : h 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, Rejoice. 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord [is] at hand. 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

I Corinthians 15:50 that flesh and blood cannot inherit God's kingdom,

that flesh and blood : 2 Corinthians 5:5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing [is] God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

cannot : 1 Cor 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency [is] of God;

inherit God's kingdom : Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, under the law, 4:5 To redeem that under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

I Corinthians 15:19 If in this life we have hoped in Christ only, we are [the] most miserable of all men.

If in this life : Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 8:23 And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body.

the redemption of our body : I Corinthians 15:44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body:

we have hoped in Christ only : I Thes 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

we are [the] most miserable of all men : J 16:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. 16:21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. 16:22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

Lamentations 4:11 LORD has accomplished his fury; he has poured out his fierce anger, and has kindled a fire in Zion, which has consumed her foundations. 4:12 The kings of the earth, all those who administer the inhabited world, would not believe that the hating and the greatly distressing should enter through the gates of Jerusalem.

Hebrews 3:5 And Moses indeed [was] faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken [afterward,] 3:6 but Christ as Son over His house, whose house are we, if indeed we hold fast the boldness and the boast of the hope firm to the end.

For the occasion to begin the judgment [shall be] from the house of God; but if first from us, what [shall be] the end of those who obey not the glad tidings of God? And if the righteous is difficultly saved, where shall the impious and [the] sinner appear? Wherefore even let them who suffer according to the will of God, a trustworthy creator, [to whom] commit their souls in well-doing

Psalms 78:72 And he shepherds them with the innocence of his heart, and guides them by the faculties of his hands.

Isaiah 66:2 And upon whom shall I have the attention: but upon the humble and the still and who trembleth at my words.

And upon whom shall I have the attention : Rev 3:17 That thou sayest that I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne. 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

but upon the humble and the still : Gal 4:1 Now I say, [That] the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; 4:2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the Father. 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

and who trembleth at my words : II Tim 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, [and] prepared unto every good work.

Acts 3:23 Now it shall be whatsoever soul who might not listen to that prophet shall be extirpated out of the people.

Now it shall be : 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

whatsoever soul who might not listen to that prophet : 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I had not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 12:49 For I have not spoken out of myself; but the Father who sent me, He giveth me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

the last day : 3:10 But the day of the LORD will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 3:11 [Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

shall be extirpated : 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the LORD so comes as a thief in the night. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober. 5:7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

out of the people : M 5:3 On account of this he shall deliver them up, until the time of producing [that] shall produce, and the remnants of their brethrens will return unto the sons of Israel.
