Erik Reich

Soundscapes

The more eyebrow-raising new recruit. Erik Reich spent his early years growing up in Hamburg, listening to the growing techno scene, as well as a lot of rap/hip hop music.

Pretty soon, through a combination of luck and talent, he got a job DJing for friends at parties, then he moved up to performing at local clubs when word of mouth got around.

After a few months of this he decided to add a sampler and drum machine to his decks, inspired by drum n' bass music to attempt to be 'his own band', as he puts it. After training himself (he is almost entirely self taught at what he does), he took his sound on the road, firstly local clubs, then on the road around Germany, then toured clubs in Holland and France.

However, he found that the Holy Grail for what he was doing would either be in England or Ibiza, so packed up his equipment and set sail, destined for the Ministry of Sound.

Despite his talent, he could only play smaller clubs/uni bars since he wasn't established, and was cheaper to hire, much to his distress. Well, wouldn't you be faced with small rooms full of Oasis fans?

Disillusioned at how the scene was going for him, a stroke of luck brought him into contact with Sean and Ad, and a promo copy of Poison was all it took to convince him to join the fold. A few remixes of the track impressed them so much that they HAD to have him, of regret it the missed op.

His programming skills and sampler have already been joined to the sound seamlessly, and the grounds for experimentation have been blasted wide apart. Translation: it will get A LOT weirder...

Representation translations: He brings a chemistry not seen before to the band (the puns get worse), and he's, well, German, to put it bluntly.
