Akala Jan and Lady Satan

Following her return to the ring in mid-1985 Lady Satan expressed her wish to be excluded from bouts involving the Championship as she thought that the Title would be a restraint on her style should she win the same. Eventually she was induced to partake in a Title bout against the then Champion, Miss Terri Kruger, and Lady Satan took the Title.

She successfully held the Title against various younger opponents and felt that she had no real opposition to contend with until the return to the ring in 1987 of Miss India, Akala Jan.

Akala first saw action in January of that year and by the later Spring she was in a position to throw out a serious challenge to Lady Satan. Late April of that year saw the Title bout arranged and confirmed. Both women realised that this was a serious point in their revived careers. Lady Satan knew that if she lost the Title to Akala she may find it very, very difficult to get it back and that some of the younger opposition may be given a Title shot before she had a chance to regain the same. Akala saw this as her big chance to take back the Title that she had taken from Sue Brittain for a short period in 1977. She thought that if she could take the Title from Lady Satan there would be no repetition of the events of '77 and that she would make sure that this time she would hold the Title as long as she wanted to do.

The bout started of in good clean fashion with both girls going for a trial of skill and strength at that stage. By the middle of round 2 Lady Satan decided that she had had enough of this form of fight and reverted to her more normal outlandish practices thereby bring the wrath of the audience upon herself. In round 5 Akala decided that she too wanted an end to the match and very skilfully took Lady Satan into the choke hold which had seen so very many opponents off in the past.

Very soon Lady Satan was screaming her submission to the delight of the audience. To show her complete victory Akala gave the dazed Lady Satan a kick in the side as she walked off to her corner. Round four saw Lady Satan all out for revenge, at first she had to overcome the unsettled state that Akala had left her in but she soon rallied and applied a superb surfboard which brought a screaming submission now from the stricken Akala.

Round five saw Akala starting still in some pain from the surfboard but trying to salvage the bout which was still scored equally at 1-1. Akala took an advantage and hurled Lady Satan onto the ropes hoping to send her flying across the ring from a throw, Lady Satan using her cunning allowed the throw onto the ropes but instead of bouncing off into Akala's grip for a throw, she hooked onto the top rope, allowed Akala near to her then hit Akala in the middle of the forehead with a superb headbut.

This almost knocked Akala unconscious, she immediately flopped to the floor and Lady Satan still holding on to her followed her down to take the winning cross press. The referee counted three with no movement at all and it was obvious to all present that he could probably have counted 60 without any movement at all from the dazed Miss Jan. Thus ended a superb Championship fight. Worthy of any other Title bout the BWA ever staged. Akala carried on her career and did in fact make further but unsuccessful attempts at the Title but however this was held until her retirement by the redoubtable Lady Satan.
