Love Stories

How Did We Meet? (Cont'd)

After I have lost some of the urge to go and on my turn playing Text Twist, my sisters woke up. I know I look mighty fat in my housedress that I didn’t care that I hear them snickering behind me. I wasn’t even talking to them as I know how long they took to prepare themselves, against my own bath and go style. (hey, Its just the mall!) I started rousing people before seven, they are finally ready by 9:30. hay. Then my father came, bristling over us going to the cemetery to visit my mom’s grave. ( I don’t really like going there. It reminds me so much that she’s gone… :’( ) So we went.

At the cemetery, I went on to wipe the dirt off her nameplate while Pipo got out to buy matches in lieu of those he forgot to bring. After a while, my celphone rang. And from the corner came Dhey, with this huge bouquet of flowers! He never gave me flowers, got my flowers from the mailman. That was sweet. And maybe I knew what was going to happen. No he didn’t kneel… he gave me this card he made himself, containing a pair of rings. And he asked me to marry him!!!

But that wasn’t the end of his surprise. We liked to eat so I wasn’t surprised that we came to a stop at the Ihaw-ihaw, Kalde-kaldero Singing Cooks and Waiters Restaurant in Timog. We always meant to eat there but just hadn’t had made the time to do so. What surprised me was that there were a group who entered after we did – his parents, Tatay boy & Nanay Tess; his baby sister, Jhoy; and his eldest sister, Ate Jeannie, and of course his one and only niece, Lyka. Tuloy pamanhikan na pala ito!**

We were seated on a special table where our food was cooked right before our eyes. That’s what we like about the restaurant – the service, the people, not to mention the great food at a reasonable price… The cook even put on a show on the wok… That was hot! Ü

After our stomachs are dutifully pleased, Twinkle gave in to sing with the cook who served us. Too bad though the place didn’t have microphones… I’d really like to have the world (or at least, the other restaurant guests) be awed by my sister…

After the dinner, we of course took some pictures, and our families took our separate ways… My sisters and us still got to the mall – where I wasn’t able to buy anything… I took pity on Dhey as he was already wincing as he walks (I told you he hated those shoes! Ü ).. In any way, I ‘d really like to cuddle up with my sweetheart!!
