Judith O'Dea as Barbara
In 1968, George Romero gave horror back to the people who were good at it by setting his story in a real world populated by believable characters. Romero and a group of his friends who were also investors decided to make a "little" black and white movie where they lived, in Pittsburgh. They settled upon a simple story about the recently deceased rising up to eat the flesh of the living. Several people are trapped in a farmhouse by these stumbling zombies. Over the course of a day and night, they try to survive, making one wrong decision after another as the horror and suspense increase.
