Biography: My name is Dr. Henry McCoy. To some, I am known by the rather dubious monniker of "Beast", originally earned on the football field. Now the nom de guerre is more than suitable for my beastly countenance. I was born in Dunfee, Illinois to Norman and Edna McCoy. Even at birth, I possessed unusally large hands and feet, the first signs of my mutation. In high school, my enhanced agility, speed and strength made me quite the famous and formiddable football player. My passions, however, lay in academics, specifically classic literature and the sciences.
I joined the X-Men, using my high school nickname as my codename. I had hoped to show humanity that humans and mutants can live together peacefully. Unfortunately, my love for science and genetics has gotten me into a bit of trouble. After taking a serum of my own creation, I accidentally altered my own DNA permanently, furthering my mutation and transforming myself into the furry blue creature you see before you today.
I have been affiliated with many mutant groups in the fight for equality and peace, but my loyalties lie with Professor Charles Xavier and the X-Men. However, I am always ready to meet new friends and share my love for music, life and a good book.
