WORK DAY MASQUERADE
By: C. Burns
Written 6/27/00

On a bright hazy morning,
I wake and step into the sun.
Another war is just beginning.
Another day has just begun.

I struggle against the currents
Of an ever changing sea.
I battle the days events
And try to remain me.

But deep inside is a dragon
That we all hold and bear.
Hiding it from the workplace.
Pretending it isnt there.

What would happen if it were free?
I would really like to know.
Letting people see who we are
And all our emotions to show.

Until this war is over
And our faces can finally shine,
Ill never know your secrets
And youll never know mine.
