Dream

This poem is about my dream to find the man of my dreams and how he managed to find me. At the bottom of the piece of paper, that it was originally written on, is drawn a heart with "CJB+CJS" written inside. To CJS, my DREAM come true.

Dreams are never where you expect.
These words ring loud and true.
For I traveled thousands of miles,
Thousands of miles, searching for you.

I survived the bitter snows
And lived a few months in Hell.
I walked the beaches of Florida,
But you were in neither ice nor shell.

I returned to my home again,
Thinking my dream had reached an end.
I returned here in sadness
And found you in the car of a friend.

To think I traveled so far away,
All those miles to find a perfect mate.
Searching for the missing part of me
And to find him outside my front gate.

You can never find your true dreams
But they always manage to find you.
