| Coach V If you are looking for quality tennis lessons to improve your game or to begin playing for the first time, I am your guide & trainer to better tennis. My name is William Vazquez (AKA Coach V). I am highly motivating on & off the court and look forward to hearing from you. My motto is "Player Development Depends on Commitment, Ability, Patience, Listening & finally a little bit of talent." I been teaching for over ten years, I coached the New York Junior Tennis League Tournament Team, the Harlem Junior Tennis Program the same program James and Thomas Blake trained at in there youth, including myself, Club Fit in Briarcliff & Jefferson Valley, And I coached National Level players with Randy Mani Tennis Academy. I am Currently with Top Rank Tennis which is a tournament development academy for adults and juniors from all skill levels learn more on the Top Rank Tennis page. Personal Bio I was born in Manhattan & raised in the Bronx. I had a ruff child hood and I was able to achieve success by learning and playing tennis at the age of fourteen. I started playing tennis with the City Parks Foundation youth tennis camps. The camps are free and they provided rackets and tennis balls. After about a year I learned about the New York Junior Tennis League after My team and I took the Bronx Championships in Junior High. I joined the NYJTL's Youth Recreational Programs which are free and I work on my tennis seriously to try and make their Summer Tournament Team. I made the Summer & Winter Team as an alternate and was sent to the Harlem Junior Tennis Program. I was able to make The Harlem Junior Tennis Programs Tournament Team and there I receive training from Tom Blake ( James Blake's Father), Dante Brown Current Director (Former Coach of James & Thomas Blake), Karen Baulkawits (USTA's Olympics Trainer & currently A trainer for the NY Knicks), Gus Alcayaga current Director of tennis for the NYJTL (former world touring pro). All these Great tennis instructors could not help me. My talent got in the way of my development. When I burned out about 17 I had to start relearning how to play tennis on my own. This was the best experience of learning I have ever had because now that I wasn't playing well I was forced to listen to new ideas and every info on tennis I can find. I developed a new Forehand & a new Serve to compensate other weaknesses. As I was learning these new technique that every pro in the world shares I started redefining my teaching methods to a great success. My pain is your gain. I can quickly show you how to hit a ball as hard as any pro on the tour. Since I was a late bloomer I figured that I would still be able to go on the Futures tour but then last years in 2004 I got injured. So now I can play tournaments but after about a week hard hitting and play my arm is no good and I have to rest. You can learn more about me by calling 917-664-8824 = 917-no-Gut 24 |
