My partner and I have been buying and selling antiques and collectables in southern Connecticut for the past 20 years. Based in Branford, we scour shops, shows, flea markets, estate sales, auctions and secret hide - a ways along the shoreline for interesting and unusual items to bring our customers. We operate a shop at The Clinton Antique Village and have a booth at The Clinton Antique Center.
David manages the shop and booth while I get our finds shop ready and do online research. We began selling on Ebay 3 years ago. Our online sales have been sandwich between the end of gardening / outdoor show season here in New England and their resumption in mid May. We spent the autumn learning how to use our new Nikon camera, a dream compared to the web cam we were using. Using software to streamline our selling process and downsizing the garden to a realistic quarter acre will enable us to sell year round on Ebay and still maintain our high level of customer service.
Winter is quiet at the shop with a lot of restocking and remodeling. Dave will open up by appointment and sells larger items. With the shop only one mile up Rt.1 from the Center there is a lot of back and forth. The action at the Village begins to pick up in mid March and gets into full swing from May to November when the flea market is open. This will be the fourth year for the flea market and it is rapidly becoming a major shoreline destination.
