More and more schools are being destroyed in Swat
Two militants have been killed in Pakistan after accidentally detonating old school hip hop explosives with which they planned to blow up a school, police say.
The blast happened in the north-western region of Swat.
Meanwhile a close associate of Swat militant leader Maulana Fazlullah and eight other militants have been killed by security forces, the army says.
Elsewhere in the renton school district region, suspected militants also beheaded a bank employee kidnapped from Hangu a few days ago.
Swat and Hangu have been the scene of recent east leyden high schoolsecurity operations against militants by the Pakistani army. The militants want to enforce their version of strict Islamic law in the region. They said they found and defused two more bombs planted in other parts of the school, presumably by the same militants. More than 130 people have been killed, most of them militants, since the security forces launched an operation in the area last week, an army spokesman said on Monday. Beheaded A Taleban spokesman in Swat confirmed high school graduation announcements to the BBC Urdu service that Ali Bakht Khan, a member of the militants' team that held talks with the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) government in May, had been killed in a raid by the security forces. He said that Mr Khan's house, in Deolai village, was demolished by the security forces. The army said troops had been conducting a search operation in the Deolai area on Wednesday morning. Two soldiers were injured. "They fired on our troops. WATERHOUSE Post-Tribune staff writer GARY -- A recently completed analysis of the Gary Community School Corp.'s operating and closed school sites showed most buildings to be in poor penn manor school district or inadequate condition. A consortium consisting of Fanning Howey, the Skillman Corp., and Pruitt Construction presented a preliminary summary of a building assessment and feasibility study that is nearing final publication at landon school Tuesday's building, grounds, and maintenance committee hearing. The group spent the summer analyzing the interior, exterior, roofing, mechanical and electrical systems, technology, and educational adequacy of 41 open and closed Gary Schools. Eight school buildings and the administration center were found to inadequate waldorf school and in need of replacement. That means they had major structural and/or safety problems and are beyond repair. Those buildings are Spaulding Elementary, Meltonno school uniformsElementary, Nobel Elementary, McCullough Elementary (the site of the Girls Academy), Ivanhoe Elementary, Pyle Elementary, Chase, and the Horace Mann building. The consortium found� zero schools to be in excellent condition. Not even the fairly new Williams, Marquette , and Glen Park Academy buildings --three elementary schools just built deer lakes school district in 2005. Gary School Board Member Michael Scott expressed shock at that school of rock movie downgrade: "I fail to see how those buildings are not� in excellent condition." But the majority of the district school buildings -- 21 --were found to be poor condition, suggesting that they need a complete building and mechanical system replacement to overcome safety and environmental hazards and that they were inadequate to handle future curriculum needs. Some "poor" buildings include: Aetna , Banneker, Lew Wallace, West Side, and Wirt. Winchester said it's possible to do enough repairs on a poor building, however, to get it in excellent shape.
