Elmer's my 10yo TB gelding, and is slower than a turtle. No wonder he never did well at racing ;). He's super sweet and friendly, and is becoming bomb-proof! Due to lameness issues, he can't jump much, but I still love him! We've actually started trying the gaming stuff... barrels, polebending, and keyhole, at the local shows. The riding instructor at Carousel, Suzanne, has actually helped by giving me some exercises to lengthen his stride and strengthen his back... it's kinda worked too! We'll probably move into doing some little shows, but not a whole lot more.
And the 2003 Grange Fair.... Elmer went! And got 3rd out of 15 over a crossrail course when he hadn't jumped in over year and a half!
