It seems that there's been a new wave of Zelda purchasers lately due to the response I'm still getting from this site. It seems that many of you who are new to the Zelda 64 scene are beginning to get to the point in the game where I was back in December of last year and January, searching for the Triforce, looking for any possible way to beat the Running Man who you sell the bunny mask to, wondering about the mysterious glitch in the Haunted Wasteland, questioning why the ending wasn't up to your expectations. It seems many have focusing on the old debates and articles on The Odyssey of Hyrule, and not looking at all the updates to find the solution to some of the questions arising. I'm making this page to tie up all the loose ends that may still be hanging around in some people's minds regarding Zelda. I've done this before on the site in various locations at different times, but it seems to keep being missed by people who may have just recently discovered this web site. Number 1. YOU CAN NOT OBTAIN THE TRIFORCE IN ZELDA 64. It was a worthy debate awhile ago, but it has since been thoroughly proven that it can NOT BE DONE. The Triforce on the Quest Status Screen DOES NOT fill in. You can't even get it with the gameshark. I repeat, yet again, YOU CAN NOT OBTAIN THE TRIFORCE IN ZELDA 64. Sure it was a bummer, but the way they (the creators of Zelda) set the storyline up makes it so the Triforce is part of Zelda, Link, and Ganon. I still receive so many E-mails that are titled, "I know how to get the triforce." and "I have Triforce Information." I'm sorry to say, but of all the mail I do get, these are the usually, besides junk mail, the only ones that I don't even bother to read. Please IGNORE ALL TRIFORCE RUMORS that people in your school or friends come up with, all of them are false. This issue is completely dead. Wait for Gaiden and see if we gamers can somehow get it in that one, okay. Number 2. YOU CAN NOT BEAT THE HYRULE RUNNING MAN'S RACE. Since the game came out, this has bugged a whole pile of people. They purposefully did this to keep you playing the game and try to get a better score. Proof is shown when you use the gameshark to turn off the counter and make it to the bridge in 0:00 seconds and he STILL BEATS you. Don't bother any wacky ideas about beating him, it IS COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE. In older sections on this site you will see debate regarding this, do not take all the claims seriously. Number 3. THE ENDING NEVER CHANGES. Maybe, I'm being a little harsh, but it seems to be the concensus among gamers I've talked with and been E-mailed by that the ending was somewhat of a rip-off considering the effort required in getting that far in the game. Even if you work hard and get all 100 Gold Skulltula Spiders, find every Heart Container Piece, every Weapon, it remains exactly the same. Number 4. Anything called a "Glitch" doesn't mean it's supposed to be part of the game. A glitch is simply a "goof up" or error, where a game's play testers missed an apparent programming mistake. Glitches in Zelda 64 don't allow for the plot to be altered or for you to get any new items. Number 5. "The Most Wanted Tricks" are no longer "Wanted" because it has been proven that many of the things listed there can not be done or are just "red herrings" THERE IS NOT A HIDDEN PYRAMID in the HAUNTED WASTELAND. You can not play the game as Sheik or Zelda. You can only play as Link. Number 6. The Z-Files, I will say this again, ARE NOT IN YOUR GAME. These are pre-production screenshots or screenshots made possible with the gameshark, or on Nintendo's "Debugging Copy" of Zelda 64. Number 7. YOU MUST HAVE THE SINKING LURE to get the eel-like fish called the "Hylian Loach" at the bottom of the lake. Trust me the Lure right there around the lake, no where else in the game. Just keep looking and you'll find it. Catching the Hylian Loach Number 8. The Bridge that you see in Ganon's Castle that you can't reach when you first get there is the same bridge you'll exit the castle from after you defeat Ganon's first form. It's not a secret or hidden anything. Number 9. The GOLDEN GAUNTLETS are located behind the Shadow Door inside Ganon's Castle. Number 10. THERE IS NO BLUE COLORED GREAT FAIRY or BLADE BEAM ATTACK. Both of these were REMOVED from the game before it was released. |
