 WHERE's VIDEO GAMER X???
Contrary to popular rumor, I was not abducted by aliens and experimented upon, arrested by the government for cracking the IRS database, or died in a car crash. I'm still here...I think... I know you are probably wondering why there have been no updates to the Zelda sites, but if you've been keeping eye on my other two sites "The Experience of Shenmue" and "In Tribute of the Epic Squaresoft Legacy: Final Fantasy IX" you would have realized that I'm still alive and kicking, but things have just really got hectic at this time of year for me, not only personal issues, but as well, all the great games that have been released. I've been really RPG'ed out so to speak with Chrono Cross, Shenmue, Parasite Eve 2, Final Fantasy IX, Zelda: Majora's Mask, Skies of Arcadia, and of course the Playstation 2, and the DVD's like Gladiator that I got. I'm starting to wrap up all these games soon so I may encounter more time to update my sites, especially the Zelda sites, but don't fret all this information is still here for your enjoyment.
I do plan to keep all these legendary sites online as long as I'm alive, but there may come a point in the future (years from now) when I actually "grow up" and get a wife and family (sheesh, I'll be like my parents!) and I might not be able to update but more than a month or something on any site, but they should still exist if I can help it. The way I see it, these sites, especially The Odyssey of Hyrule, have become part of the old-net. It's kind of odd, but the era of the glorified "Homepage" has somewhat died out. In search engines I could find so many of these years ago, but now it seems they've been choked out by "BUY THIS" and various corporately owned sites held by businesses. Oh their still out there, but I remember the days when .com sites were pretty uncommon and searches usually yielded tons of homepages on college servers or geocities. The internet has become a dot-commercialized marketplace. So many dot-folks just use the dot-internet to dot-shop now, it's not even dot-funny. The amount of computers online has multiplied by 10 times since I built my first site online. Damn, I remember when if you searched for .mil sites you actually found a lot of these online with some really wierd Military stuff on there, that has since been locked down. Ahh, the internet memories.
You know, I STILL don't use FrontPage or any of that stuff to make the sites. I mean, I feel kind of old now still typing in CENTER commands and TABLE this and /FONT that. That's the way the old schoolers did it. It's like that old time is gone. Many of my favorite old video game sites that were created by guys like me without a lust for profit in mind have since perished. There are a few left, but they are kind of like historical relics of their former glory - never updated or just outdone out by corporate or revenue producing sites that have employees on a payroll. Since Zelda keeps being reinvented and brought back, I will always have material to talk about, and The Odyssey of Hyrule will never die.
There are a lot of upcoming plans I have for The Odyssey of Hyrule in the future. I have articles yet to be completed as well as continuning entries of old favorites like Fond Zelda Memories, and Something to Laugh At. Right now, I am concentrating primarily on my Final Fantasy IX site, and I want to finish off the Shenmue and Xenogears sites as well. Coming in 2001 I hope to Launch "The Millennium Crossroads of the Mind's Eye" a very ambitions project, that I might have to postpone the launch to April 4, 2001. I invite the many fans of my Zelda sites to visit my other sites and enjoy what those have to offer.
Unlimited Fantasy - Literary site devoted to Fantasy stories and poetry, articles related to the arts and film, classical epics, and my own novel, Khakain: The Coming of the Chosen One. Still under development and slated for periodic update.
Final Fantasy VIII: The Adventure Continues - devoted to Final Fantasy VIII. This one is approaching retirement.
The Epic of Final Fantasy VII - my first video game site. There were some things that I wanted to finish on this site and elaborate on, but never got around to because I started making the Odyssey of Hyrule on April 4th of 1998. I retired this old site.
