4/4/99 - Happy Awakening Day! The Odyssey of Hyrule turns 1 year old. On this date one year ago I started a simple website devoted to Zelda and today it has blossomed into an experience like no other.

4/2/99 - Sadly, another Wall of Shamer was reported to me. The owner of this site seems to have no respect for Zelda or the Odyssey of Hyrule. This issue will be taken care of.

4/1/99 - Happy April Fools!, Nintendo officially joins the celebration with a totally "gag" website with altered proof screenshots that the Triforce is in Zelda 64. I'm sure these are in circulation around the internet now, and I hope that gamers don't take them seriously as I have discovered that some have. Please folks - don't believe these shots. They are 100% fake. Remember the T-Rex. This is the same thing.

2/6/99 - Latest News. The Odyssey of Hyrule has become very popular. You fans out there racked up a whopping 2.3 million hits on the site in the month of January. That's astounding to say the least. Those looking for your stories, will see them some time in the coming week. I must make an announcement here though, before you E-mail me, please read the site thoroughly, because I've been getting remarks and questions about things I've already addressed somewhere on the site. Please, I know it's a big site, but just take the time to read sections like "Top Secret" and "Discussions" for answers to your questions and comments. Many of the "Going beyond the Game" sections are updated on a regular basis. Finally, on a less joyful note, I found another big offender for the Wall of Shame. It's time this kind of thing stops. Remember the Odyssey of Hyrule is your Best source for Zelda gaming topics and issues.

1/27/99 - After hearing the Windmill man's theme hour after hour, I decided that it might be a good idea if I change the music back to the Overworld Theme. Round and round we go...ANNOYING! Adios to the Music Man.

As you may already notice you are now listening to the Windmill Man's Theme. It sets that kind of weird mood to the site. It has been kind of getting strange lately with all those Triforce rumors, and psychic Zelda connections.

1/25/99 - Is there more to Zelda 64? While some have given up on the game, this site shows that there is much more true (and I do mean TRUE, not imaginary) secrets and tricks out there. 12/21/98 - Hey, how about that...New Music. Its a rather good rendition of the original The Legend of Zelda opening theme. Something that was sadly missing from Zelda 64.

12/18/98 - If you bought the game back in November or even early December it is most likely that you have completed it by now. Let Video Gamer X know what you thought about the game overall. Add your name to the Hall of Fame.

12/16/98 - Unfortunately individuals have been downloading parts of the Odyssey of Hyrule and including it on their Homepages. THIS IS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED. If you do feel that the warning wasn't good enough then further action WILL be taken. I feel real bad that I had to post a message like this. It just seems that a few people are numbskulls with absolutely no sense of propriety and courtesy.

12/14/98 - Attention Zelda 64 Gamers: Lately I have been receiving questions for things that are already somewhere on the The Odyssey of Hyrule. Read the Walkthough and Strategy Guide carefully! As always, I love to get questions about Zelda. Try to stump me, I like it, just don't ask me a question I've already answered or is somewhere in the Walkthough. Thanks :)

The Odyssey of Hyrule was established on April 4, 1998 as Video Gamer X finished his site devoted to Final Fantasy VII, and wanted to pursue the next great gaming experience on the horison. Originally the site started out rather small, with just a section of Gameshots, a section on the History of the game, and some rumors about what Zelda: The Ocarina of Time would be like. Since then the site has grown substantially. My homepage has become the scene for everything that is Zelda. And so the Adventure continues...
