| Pretty much the only way to stop the greenhouse effect is to reduce greenhouse gas emmisions. The only way to do that is to be less dependant of fossil fuels, and hopefully sometime in the future be able to manage without them at all. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Some relativly simple steps can be taken to try and stop the effects of global warming. The first is coal burning plants (all fossil fuels but coal especially) need to be replaced by cleaner energy efficent plants like solar power, nuclear power, hyrdropower, etc. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| People should try to invest in hybrid or electric cars (there's a tax break if you do!) and if they dont they should start car-pooling. There is research being done right now trying to discover an effective way to run cars on liquid hydrogen which is believed to be able to run a car as fast as gasoline could. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Another idea on how to stop global warming is instead of putting all our money into ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions we should try to find ways to take it out of the atmosphere. An idea for this method would be the mass planting of forests, once the trees reach the point in their life where they store carbon the forest would be clear cut and a new one would be planted. The plan didnt specify where the cut trees would go only that they would not be burned. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
