| Methane is made up of one atom of carbon and four atoms of hydrogen. It is a colorless odorless gas. As a natural gas methane is used for fuel, as well as carbonizing steel. While it is unreactive to common chemical reagents, in the pressence of light it reacts with chlorine or fluroine.
