Tequila Talkin'
Joey picked up the phone and quickly dialed the numbers he knew by heart. Sure, he missed her a little, but he should have never rambled on like he did last night.
"Hello? Lilianna speaking. How may I help you?" Joey paused. To hear her voice again was a cruel torture, but he had to apologize.
"Hello Lilianna." Joey replied cooly. "We need to talk."
*****************************

I called about that conversation that I had with you last night
It must have been a combination of shooters and neon lights
And I didn't really mean to say
I've been losing it since you left
Yeah, I may have said the words, but they came from somewhere else.

*Flash Back*

"Joey, I really don't think. . . " Lilianna began as Joey grabbed her hand and pulled her to the dance floor.
"Don't think." he mumbled against her neck. Joey held her close as they gently swayed in time to the music. They had both been doing shots of tequila for at least an hour. "I've missed you so much." Joey whispered as they danced. Lilianna looked up at him, slightly startled and wiped a salty tear from his chocolate colored eyes.

*End Flashback*

*****************************

It was just the tequila talkin'
When I told you I'm still not over you
I get a little sentimental when I've had one or two
And the tear in my eye was the salt and the lime
Not the memory of you walkin'
If I said I'm still in love with you
It was just the tequila talkin'

*****************************

"Joey, last night was last night, and let's just leave it at that." Lilianna rushed on, making Joey cringe.
"Lili, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for all that I said last night. I drank too much, and. . .and. . ." he trailed off trying to think of a way to justify his actions from the previous night.
"Joe, it's okay. We both did, and well, I wasn't exactly helping your composure in that skirt." she smiled at the memory of his reaction to her little ensemble.
"I know, but it's mostly my fault."
*****************************

I don't know what they put in Cuervo that got me to say those things
Usually I wouldn't care so much to make such a scene
But seeing you there in that dress you were wearing
Just drove me right out of my head
So don't hold me responsible for anything
I might have said

*Flashback*

"Ohmygod! You did that?" Lilianna laughed as Joey ordered them another round of shots.
"Your turn." Joey said as he handed her the lemon wedge and salt shaker. After about six or seven shots, they had dropped all masks of the whole 'ex' thing.
"Okay." she took her shot off Joey's shoulder, her lips lingering for a few seconds longer.
Joey closed his eyes and sucked in a slow ragged breath. "Lili, I, uh, I love. . ."
"Joey, don't." Lili whispered, "just be."

*****************************

It was just the tequila talkin'
When I told you I'm still not over you
I get a little sentimental when I've had one or two
And the tear in my eye was the salt and the lime
Not the memory of you walkin'
If I said I'm still in love with you
It was just the tequila talkin'

*****************************

"Look, I know you didn't mean it all, we were living in the moment. Let's just pretend it never happened." Lilianna choked out, holding back tears of regret and remorse.
"Okay, if that's what you want." he sighed. "Okay." Joey agreed, hanging up the phone.
"It's not what I want." Lilianna whispered into the dial tone. "It's not."
*****************************

If I said I'm still in love with you
It was just the tequila talkin'
