?Someone Else's Star?
Justin stared up at the stars as they sparkled against the night sky. Gently, he closed his eyes and made a wish, for a true love.
Alone again tonight
Without someone to love
The stars are shining bright
So one more wish goes up
Oh I wish I may
And I wish with all my might
For the love I'm dreaming of
And missing in my life
?Justin, guess what!? Annie, one of Justin?s best friends yelled, excitedly.
?I don?t know, Nie, what?? Justin teased taking out the jug of orange juice and drinking right from the carton.
?I?m getting married!? she squealed as Justin nearly choked. He pretended to be happy for her as he examined the ring on her hand. She was the second person to tell him ?great news? in the past week. It seemed like all his friends were pairing off. First John, now Annie, he wondered who would be next.
You'd think that I could find
A true love of my own
It happens all the time
To people that I know
Their wishes all come true
So I've got to believe
There's still someone out there who
It meant for only me
Justin made another wish on ?his? star. He began to wonder if all those years wishing on that star were going to help. Maybe it wasn?t his star at all. Maybe it was someone else?s. Would they get al his wishes? All he wanted was love, true love.
I guess I must be wishing
On someone else's star
It seems like someone else
Keeps gettin' what I'm wishing for
Why can't I be as lucky as those other people are
I guess I must be wishing
On someone else's star
Justin sat alone on his back porch swing. He stared at the sky, deep in thought. All dat he?d been trying to come up with a reason why he didn?t have a girlfriend, but it wasn?t working. Everywhere he had turned during the day, he had seen Chris and Dani, or Joey and Loni, or J.C. and Bobbie, even Lance and Becky. He was the only one who spent Valentine?s Day alone.
I sit here in the dark
And stare up at the sky
But I can't give my heart
One good reason why
Everywhere I look
It's lovers that I see
Seems like everyone's in love
With everyone but me
A sparkle lit in the sky. Justin blinked hard. Was it his star that blinked? 'One more try.? he thought solemnly as he walked down to the beach. He slowly lifted his head, and whispered his wish.
I guess I must be wishing
On someone else's star
It seems like someone else
Keeps gettin' what I'm wishing for
Why can't I be as lucky as those other people are
I guess I must be wishing
On someone else's star
Justin watched Hekele close her eyes and lift her head to the stars. His star twinkled. 'We share a star.? he thought. ?Your star? I?m Justin.? he said as he extended his hand and she smiled.
Why can't I be as lucky
As those other people are
Oh I guess I must be wishing
