{1} Tournament final over Magnum T.A. to become the first champion.
{2} On 08/15/1990 Owen Hart won the NWA, WWF, AWA World Titles and retained the WWA Worlds Title to become the Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion. The NWA stripped Hart of the NWA title on 09/01/1991, the AWA folded on 10/05/1991, and the WWF was sold to Time-Warner on 01/01/1992 who merged it with the NWA.
{3} After winning the title, challenged Owen Hart to a title match right then.
{4} Stripped on 01/19/1996 following disputes between the PWA and Hart against the WWA. At that point the PWA drops out of the WWA, yet rejoins a month later.
{5} Tournament final over Ken Shamrock.
{6} NWA World Champion becomes unified champion stripped on 07/03/1996 after faking his own death in Japan.
{7} Won 36 man tournament final over Barry Windham. At this point the PWA drops out of the WWA, drops the WWA World Title and declares there own world champion.
{8} Stripped on 03/26/1999 after failure to appear for a title defense for the third time.
{9} Defeats Ed Wayne Bruce in a battle of the top two contenders.
{10} The NWA and WWA split ways and severing all ties due to differences of opinion.
{11} PWA World Champion unifies the titles.
{12} Leaves the PWA after a dispute with the PWA front office and then forfeits the WWA World Title to the WWA board on 3/3/2000 after refusing to appear at the upcoming PWA pay-per-view event.
{13} Defeats Dallas Page.
{14} Retires and vacates title on 04/16/2001.
{15} Tournament final over Brandon Myers.
{16} Title vacated on 03/25/2002 when Windham retires.
{17} Tournament final over Axel Hager
{18} WWA Title Vacated when SNC Corporations bought Fredrickson Sports and closed the WWA on 10/01/2002.
{19} WWA Chairman of the Board, William Tocci, and Vice Chairman, Jonathan Darkstar, awarded Jackson the WWA World Champion as he brought the REAL NWA World title over to the WWA.
{20} During the PWW taping, the Chairman decided to make a change to the earlier decision to award Jackson the title, making the main event of the night for the World title. Jackson won, there by unifying the WWA and the REAL NWA World titles for the first time in 18 years.
