The intent and purpose of this website is to offer firearms instruction classes to any and all who are interested. This business is dedicated to the safety and well-being of every individual in the United States. As veterans running this company, we believe it is not only a priviledge to have a constitutionally protected right to carry firearms but also a moral obligation and duty to act to protect those around you who are unable to protect themselves. Regardless of whether they carry or what their political views are.
The design choices for this website were made to be simple, straight-forward and black and white, just like everything in the Marine Corps. As a Marine veteran, I wanted this website to follow an easy design that any visitor could use. The company's name and an Eagle Globe and Anchor (EGA) are on every page with the information listed below. The words at the bottom of every page are in latin and translate to "Often Tested, Always Faithful, Brothers Forever." The website is very neat, clean and professional looking with nothing really confusing about it at all.
I really would have liked to put a little bit more into the pages and information for this website. Another page about the gun safety rules would have been wonderful. A page that has pictures of all the instructors and their backgrounds in the military i.e. branch, campaigns, medals etc. Also, I would have really liked to have a page dedicated to the 2nd amendment and the freedom of speech that we have here in America. We're really the only country in the world that Constitutionally protects both of those rights for us. No matter how much people in politics try to take it away or how many people cry out against it, it is the backbone of our country and is what keeps us separate from the rest of the world. I definitely would have liked to use some pictures of the gun ranges as well. I could have gone and taken some pictures at the ranges I personally shoot at and uploaded them but I didn't have the time between the move and the new job. I really like the black and white them of the website to be honest and don't really want to change that around too much. If I do add more pictures though, that might force me to bring in a little color. I could even put borders around them too so that the main theme of the website isn't effected too much. I wanted to do some things differently with the font but ended up going with a more modern approach. I had some trouble putting the website together in the beginning so some walkthrough videos were used as well as referencing to some templates to aid in the structure and layout. I drew everything down on paper and then put it on the screen after. I knew what I wanted the pages to look like but definitely feel there could have been some more coverage on the pages. I want to keep the wordage used on each page to a minimum so if I added some more pictures or designs around the EGA like some cross rifles that would fill in the void a lot better.
