I. What do I have to do becoming a member of EUPATRAS?

Firstly you have to sign in our Newsgroup. Then we'll inform you about the membership fees and everything else as soon as we know it!

III.] ARE THERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TRAINEESHIPS?

Different types of traineeships exist at the EP : the paid and the unpaid ones.

A. PAID TRAINEESHIPS

Paid traineeships shall be awarded only to graduates of universities or equivalent institutions.

2. Specific conditions for paid traineeships

(1.) Applicants for a paid traineeship must:

(a) have obtained a university degree after a course of study of at least three years' duration;

(b) submit a written reference from a university lecturer or from a professional person who is able to give an objective assessment of the applicant's aptitudes.

(2.) Applicants for Robert Schuman scholarships, general option, must also have produced, as part of the requirements for a university degree or for a scientific journal, a written paper of considerable length on a subject related to the European Union.

(3.) Applicants for Robert Schuman scholarships, journalism option, must also demonstrate professional experience as evidenced either by works published, or by membership of an association of journalists in a Member State of the European Union, or by the award of a qualification in journalism recognised in the Member States of the European Union or in the applicant countries.

(4.) Applicants for Ram�n y Cajal scientific scholarships must also have produced a written paper of considerable length as part of the requirements for a university degree or for a scientific journal.

B. UNPAID TRAINEESHIPS
Specific conditions for unpaid traineeships

Priority in the awarding of such traineeships shall be given to young people who are required to complete a traineeship as part of their course of study.

Traineeships may exceptionally be extended for a maximum period of two months.

V. HOW CAN I BECOME A EP TRAINEE ?

People interested in a traineeship at the EP and who fulfill the conditions required have to use a special form available on the EP website : www.europarl.eu.int

VI. Is it possible for people from applicant countries becomming a trainee?

People from applicant countries are submited to the same rules as people from EU. They can becoming a EP trainee if they fulfil the general and the specific conditions required.

VII.Where could I stay in LUX?

One of the most important problems at all; Luxemburg is a smaller town and there are many European Institutions and European Banking Cooperations. Today the EP offers a list of cheap accomodations, but in long-term EUPATRAS plans to buy or rent a house as cheap accomodation for EP-Trainees.

VIII. Does EUPATRAS offer a traineeship?

No, because we are just a union of former, current and future trainees.
