The Filipino Computer Club – Dubai (FCC-D) is a non-profit, non-political organization under the auspices of the Philippine Embassy, Office of the Labor Attaché / OWWA in Dubai.
* To provide free computer education, training and facilities to our countrymen.
* To serve as a forum for computer users and professionals.
* To contribute our share in the development of our host country.
Since the founding of the club in 1996, more than 8,000 have completed our Basic Computer Course which covers Introduction to Computers, Dos and Windows, MS Word 2000, MS PowerPoint 2000, Writing HTML (Web Design) Basic Course and Advance Course.
We are conducting seminars for our members regularly. To date, we have had presentations on BBS, Windows OS, PC Utilities, Latest Trends & Development in IT, Internet, IBM PC Architecture, Scanning Photographs for Use in Web and Web Fundamentals for Internet Enthusiasts. Recently we have set up the Networking of our facilities. Plans are underway to set up our own Library of Books and CD ROMs, and Digital Subscriber Line DSL Line which offers continuous access to the Internet.
To enable us to achieve our goals we have enlisted the support of volunteers and Filipino professionals. What we lack in equipment we have solicited from private companies. Additional funds were also collected during our Halloween Party’s Fund Raising Drive, UN A La Mode and Raffle Draws which has helped us sustain our activities.
Lastly, the active participation of the Filipino community and the generosity and support of our government through the Labor Office and OWWA of the Philippine Embassy have always been our strength and source of inspiration in this endeavor.
