On April, 21, I heard the news about the disaster at a High School in Colorado. Apparently two outcast kids that belonged to a gothic appearanced group called the "Trenchcoat Mafia", armed with shotguns, a rifle, a handgun, and many bombs masecred many of their schoolmates with the intent to kill many more. In the end they shot themselves leaving behind a wake of injured and dead teenagers. I, am personally saddened by this disaster and feel that it is complete tragedy on everyones part both on the killers and the victims. My heart goes out to those fallen teenagers and their grieving families. Such a horrific event is comparable to the ravages of war and not the carefree world of High School. The whole issue raises many questions. For one, why did it happen? According to reporters, the members of "Trenchcoat Mafia" were frequently seen as strangers, weird, and outcasts amongst their peers. They were ridiculed, teased, chastized and shunned. Perhaps this is what propagated this hatred that culminated in such a grotesque conclusion, but moreover I think is was their own personal inadequecies and lack |
