New rear suspension with double-jointed half-shafts and new
gearbox.
New four-spoke steering wheel, splined wiper-arms, heating modified to the Beetle heat-exchanger system and single crosswise silencer and external air-intake pods above the rear mudguards. Things got the large 'elephants feet' rear lights. Improved 1.6 litre engine: 48 hp @ 4,000 rpm, 10,5 mkg @ 2,000 rpm. Wheels changed to 5JK x 14" with 185 R14 tyres. |
