The club will be holding a New Year's Eve Party this year. As with our
regular club games, admission is $4 to cover the cost of the room. Play
will start at 7:30 (no ladder this time) with breaks in between games. And
remember, when the clock strikes midnight, we switch to OWL2!

The VSC will be having its annual Christmas party tomorrow (Dec. 15).
They'll be plenty of za and drinks for everyone (no qi, unfortunately).
The club will meet as usual on the 22nd and the 29th.

Dean Saldanha turned in yet another impressive performance, finishing
13th out of 102 competitors at the World
Scrabble Championship in London, England. Fellow Canadian Adam Logan
won the tournament, posting a 20-4, +1613 record in the main tournament --
two full games ahead of runner up Pakorn Nemitrmansuk -- and defeating
Pakorn (also the runner-up at the 2003 Worlds) in three straight games in
the best-of-five final.

Congratulations to Dean Saldanha for his 7th place finish (out of 50
competitors) at the Canadian Scrabble Championships. Adam Logan won the
tournament for the second time with an incredible 15-3, +1792 performance.
