After doing his postgraduation from Punjab University in 1959 Dr. Sohan Singh Hayrey left india for advanced studies and went on to assimilate distinguish degrees like the FRCS and DSc. He is perhaps the most well known ophthalmologist of indian origin at the international level. He has held various eminent positions during his glorious career. He is the visiting Professor to various prestigious institutes all over the world. At present he is the Prof. Emeritus Ophthalmology University of Iowa,Iowa City. He has been honoured by various international awards like the prestigious Duke-elder Medal,Von Sallmann prize, William Mackenzie Medal and so on. He has done phenomenal research on CRVO. |
