He worked under Dr. S.S. Badrinath at Sankara Netralaya as a fellow in VR surgery. He is one of the most young and dynamic surgeons who steals the international limelight. His academic interest is reflected by his 40 publications and over 120 scientific papers. He holds the distinction of being the only Indian to conduct an instruction course as the chief instructor during the 28^th international congress of ophthalmology at Amsterdam. He is the recepient of several awards and honours prominent of them are best researcher award, C.N. Shroff award, American Vitreous Society Honour Award and one of the ten outstanding young Indian award. He holds the prestigious offices such as secretary VRSI and President N.S.P.B. Currently he is the Director of his brainchild, Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital,a well equipped modern vitreoretinal centre in Mumbai.
