Dr. Lingam Gopal obtained his degree in Ophthalmology from PGIMER Chandigarh in 1982. He did his vitreoretinal fellowship from Sankara Netralaya under Dr.S.S. Badrinath. He is the recepient of numbers of awards and medals such as Dr. Doshi Gold Medal 1984, Rustom Ranji Oration Gold Medal 92,SC Dutta oration Award 93 etc. He has 58 scientific papers to his credit published in various national and international journals and has authored 8 chapters in books. A revered teacher, he possesses an industrious nature of rare variety.He now heads the retina services of the prestigious Sankara Netralaya,Madras.
