The story of the Night Walker dates back 170 years to 1832. An old hunter lived in the Highland Woods. It is said that one evening a group of men broke into his house and brutally killed him. They stole all of his possessions and claimed his land as their own. No one ever knew the old man or knew that he even lived there. The men lived in that house for a few years until they were all found dead by two young hikers who came across the cabin. The townspeople later found that the cause of death was a slice to the throat but the killer was never found.
Today people say that the old hunter's angry spirit killed the men and still lives in that forest watching over his land to this day but no one could possibly know for sure. It was named the "Night walker" in 1996 when a goup of local students at Highland Secondary decided the entity of urben legend ought to have a name, so ever since then, the mysterious spirit has been referred to as the Night Walker. |
