NAGLFAR Was formed under the name UNINTERRED in late -92 by Jens Rydén and Kristoffer Olivius. They asked Ulf Andersson from NOCTURNAL RITES if he would contribute as a drummer, and so he did. At this point Jens was handling both guitar and vocals, but soon he realized that it would be better if he just concentrated on the vocals. Therefor Morgan Hansson was asked to join, and at the same time Fredrik Degerström was initiated as a second guitarist.
In March -94 Fredrik was asked to leave the band because of personal & musical differencies and so Andreas Nilsson was asked to join instead. It was at this time that the name was changed into NAGLFAR. They made some songs and decided to record a demo. Therefor they entered Garageland studios. Instead of a demo it turned out to be a one-track promo since Ulf couldn't handle the drums in a succesful way. After this failure + the fact that Ulf wasn't interested in the band anymore he left the band to concentrate on NOCTURNAL RITES instead.
A drum-machine was purchased and NAGLFAR continued to rehearse, making two new tracks. A second attempt was made at Garageland and three days later the debut demo "Stellae Trajectio" was spawned unto mankind. It was released in November 1994. A couple of months later Wrong Again records got in touch saying that they were interested to sign the band to their label, and so it became. At this moment Mathias Holmgren had taken over the drums, and so the band started working on the material for their debut-cd. In July -95 the band went to Ludvika and entered studio Abyss. There they recorded "Vittra" which contains 9 tracks of melodic Death/Black metal.
Shortly after the recording Mattias Holmgren left the band, and is now playing in the band Embracing. This caused lots of trouble since there's not that many competent drummers who are into this kind of music in Umeå. The band took a break for a couple of months while searching for a drummer. During this time the drummers Morgan Lie from AUBERON, and Johan Moritz from porn-metal mainiacs DISORGE helped the band out on different occasions. At this time the japanese label Toys factory wanted the band to participate on a Iron Maiden tribute-cd. The band went to, Sunlight studio, Stockholm and recorded "The Evil That Men Do" and two more tracks.
Just as the band started to lose all hope in finding a permanent drummer, they met Mattias Grahn on a local pub. It turned out that he was very competent and very motivated so just after a few rehearsals he became a member in NAGLFAR. After that NAGLFAR has played some gigs and released a picture 7" called "When Autumn Storms Come". They've also just finished the work on their second album " ". This piece of violent brilliance is planned to be released in April 1998.
