ETERNITY
KAMELOT was formed by the masterminds Thom Youngblood and Richard Warner in 1991. Thom and Richard began writing material via 16 track, which would eventually help them to demonstrate their ideas and plans to complete the line-up. After countless auditions, vocalist Mark Vanderbilt and bassist Glenn Barry were added to the line-up. Mark's awesome range and powerful vocal range combined with Glenn's proficiency made them the only choice. KAMELOT now almost complete, continued to write extensively for the next two years while creating a mysterious image about the band.
"The style we have created is a blend of melody and musicianship" says drummer Richard Warner. Soon in winter 1993, KAMELOT added keyboards David Pavlicko, which gave KAMELOT the additional presence of mood changes while providing old world eternal melodies. KAMELOT's influences range from European metal to classical to jazz.
"Our background is what makes us unique. Our personal taste in music has helped us creating something special" adds vocalist Mark Vanderbilt.
"The image and percepton of KAMELOT has always been to focus extensively on the world market as opposed to just focusing our talent locally" recalls guitarist Thom Youngblood.
DOMINION
Recorded at Morrisound Studios, Florida, and produced by Jim Morris their debut album "Eternity" has been released in summer 1995 on NOISE.
"Eternity" supplies you with progressive melodic metal - eternally good.
After the release of their critically acclaimed debut album Eternity in the fall of 1995 Kamelot are back with their second album Dominion. The song What About Me was already released on the ballad compilation Silent Crying and their song Proud Nomad is part of the just recently released compilation '12 Years In Noise - Metal & Beyond ....'
In 1991 Kamelot was founded by guitarist Thom Youngblood and drummer Richard Warner (not to be mistaken for Wagner) but it took until August 1995, two years after the line-up was completed, for their debut album 'Eternity' to be released. Fans and critics alike praised Kamelot as being one of the most promising newcomers of 1995.
Instead of resting on their laurels they immediately started to write new songs and in the summer of 1996 they started recording their second album produced by Jim Morris in Morrissound Studios, Florida. Dominion proves that during the last year Kamelot has matured tremendously.
Power Metal with great melodies that show influences all the way from classical music to jazz. A slightly progressive sound that connects Power Metal with epic-mystical touches. Melodic, varied riffs and balladesque middle parts as well as an orchestral harmonic keyboard are the ingredients of this masterpiece. To top it off are the unmistakable vocals of Mark Vanderbilt that make the new Kamelot album a pure treat for every listener.
