| So were sitting in my garage, playing 3-on-3 CTF at Blood Gulch. Its me, Brandan, and Shane versus Robert, Travis, and my brother. Normal settings with shields, no radar, and a 5-second respawn time. First team to 5 captures wins the match. To put it lightly, our team was losing. To the tune of 3-1, actually. Shane decides that sitting in a remote area while sniping at our shielded enemies is a good idea, so he grabs a Sniper Rifle and abandons Brandan and I. At some point, Travis miraculously sneaks past Shane and into our base without conflict. As Brandan tries to reach their base on foot, I decide to commandeer a Warthog sitting near our base. Just after passing the dark ridge, I hear the sound of a Scorpion Tank rumbling through the center of the map. It doesnt take long for me and Brandan to realize that the enemy tank was going towards its base, indicating that it already had the flag. I immediately throw the Warthog into a powerslide, sending myself directly towards the tank. I cross the map without a moment of hesitation and brace for collision. Seconds later, the Warthog has slammed itself head-first into the side of the tank, effectively FLIPPING the Scorpion and tossing its driver. Travis, a very disoriented flag-holder, scurries around before making a feeble attempt to salvage the tank. Hes easily crushed by the Warthogs massive tires. I quickly disengage my vehicle and retake our flag from its spot near the center of Blood Gulch. Somewhere between me flipping the tank and our enemys disbelief, Brandan had made his way into their base completely undetected. He grabs the flag and immediately hops into a nearby Ghost, speeding off towards home. Seconds later, the score is 3-2, and the tides have changed. Taking advantage of our enemys confusion, I obtain Brandans Ghost and proceed in parking it behind enemy lines. Score: 3-3. Once again, I take advantage of our momentum and, using the same tactics, easily secure their flag without a struggle. Score: 3-4. At this point, the other team has no chance. Brandan strolls past their defenses, snatches the flag, and proceeds to finish the match. Thanks to my tank-flipping escapades, Brandans timely capture, and Shanes copious amount of suppression fire, we made a comeback of epic proportions. |
