After breakfast we head back home. Not very nice weather, it rains most of the time. On the way we pass the famous "Ettersberg" near Weimar . The notorious Buchenwald concentration camp was situated there. From the Autobahn you can see the monument erected on the hill.

We make it home after a 5 and a half hour drive. It´s been great and I´m really happy I was able to be there as it was quite an historic event. After all Kenneth doesn´t go to Colditz every week. In the evening he sends me an e-mail. "Was great to see you and Andrea - sorry that I could not spend more time with you, but we had much to do in the time available. It was foulweather this morning when we left - we had heavy rain for quite a part of the journey - I suppose it was the same in Colditz. I do not like what has been done to the inner courtyard -- in fact- in my opinion it has completely destroyed the feel of the place, and bears no relations to the conditions when we were there - which is what the paying visitors want to see. Hope you have a good day or two - see you in October - Kenneth"
A perfect end to a few perfect days.
