Visualization News – September 2005
Take me home!
Welcome back to another issue of Visualization News. Today we will be discussing the transition from a physical mentality into owning a mentality that comes from Truth. When we start out in a physical mentality, we are made up of a succession of snapshots that are small bits of data that are then remembered as happening in a particular order, like a movie. However, unlike a movie, these snapshots are divided one from the other by periods of consciousness in Truth that we consciously ignore when we create our next snapshot. So, at that moment we are entirely concentrating on the experience of that particular momentary experience as well as all previous momentary experiences that we created with the same intent, to generate an illusion of a physical identity and life.
The manufactured reality we create for ourselves only holds water in the instantaneous series of these framed moments. In between each moment we return to the Truth and we know what the Truth is. So, although it seems to be a continuous experience of being physical, in fact it is not.
Rather than putting any meaning onto this illusion, we have to by degrees, from within the illusion, have revealed to us through our own consciousness that we are in an illusion, that it has no power over us, that we are actually in a very different place (the Truth) that operates in an entirely different way than the physical. But what is the point of all this? Why create a world and identity that doesn’t exist and can’t exist in reality?
In creating this illusory life we have imagined many things. Each of these things, grounded in physical experience, comes out of our physical identity. Although our physical identity doesn’t create anything, it is given authorship of its experiences by itself as it is at the Truth level, i.e. your self in Truth. That is to say that who you are in Truth creates the physical life experiences and then the imagined physical self is given the illusion that these experiences came out of him or her. However, rather than being stripped of its authorship after awakening to the Truth, the physical identity is able to keep ownership over everything it seemed to create. Even its own personality and identity are not destroyed by Truth. The negative and painful aspects are forgotten and the positive remain in Truth.
To “destroy” anything is not in the nature of the Truth. It is not that the Truth is not destructive, but rather that there is no “recycle” basket in Truth and therefore nowhere for anything to be deleted “too.” All ideas in Truth exist forever. Ideas that come out of an experience of untruth continue to exist in a “Truth” form in Truth, forever. No aspect of their positive and enjoyable features is lost nor are they in any way diminished over time. There is no timeline in Truth; it is like an open book. To re-experience such an event in its Truth form keeps all the positive flavors of the experience without any of the suffering, and it is just as good the one-thousandth time as it was the first. That is because no idea is lost in Truth except suffering.
Suffering is removed from experiences because in Truth there is only a spectrum of pleasure. There is no spectrum of suffering, mental, emotional or otherwise. There is certainly no real physicality so there is no physical suffering. But the positive aspects of even physical events are kept. Nothing pleasurable is lost. As each experience comes from the self and the self in Truth is completely conscious and connected to all other beings, there is no ill will to be generated through any variety of misunderstandings or miscommunication. As there is no absence of love, there is no unfulfilled desire or need that would generate hatred, even against the self. So, suffering does not exist in Truth.
But what if the pleasure of a situation depends on the pain, such as losing a lover only to have them run back into your arms? The pleasure of the memory actually contains the feelings that you want. If you were to try to allow the memory with pain, it would actually be less enjoyable than the memory as it ends up existing in Truth. So the memory in Truth is always the highest possible expression of that memory and contains no suffering.
As far as fantasy in the physical goes, that also creates an idea like a memory that exists in its idealized form in Truth forever. In fact, the fulfillment of that fantasy will be experienced by yourself when you get into Truth. Although you may have some physical experience(s) that to a certain degree fulfill a particular fantasy, the fact is that due to the suffering involved in physical experience it is impossible to have actual complete fulfillment of any experience in the physical, no matter how fantastic it is. The “Truth” version is the only one that will give you the fulfillment of that particular desire.
As far as thinking that you might miss out on any particular desire by moving to Truth, it is important to understand the previous concept. But additionally it is just as important to realize the following. When a portion of your consciousness engages in some way in a desire, then that desire WILL be experienced in complete fulfillment by that portion of your consciousness, in Truth, in the future. That is to say that there is a definite process when experiences travel from the unreal to the real.
When you start out, let’s say, fantasizing that you are relaxing in a beautiful tropical waterfall with two beautiful naked movie stars, that is a desire. The parts of your consciousness that are involved in that desire will eventually pass into Truth (after yourself in Truth is done imagining a physical self or any lower-than-Truth-level non-physical selves). This is the point where you will as a “physical” being experience returning to the Truth.
At some point in Truth, although it is impossible to talk about time there in any real way, the parts of your consciousness that engaged in that fantasy WILL experience the version of that fantasy that is in Truth, which will capture all the positive and pleasurable, even sexual, aspects of the fantasy. It will also give you the complete fulfillment of that fantasy, which is in a sense the ultimate or best conclusion to that fantasy. In other words, not only WILL that fantasy be fulfilled as a real experience but also you HAVE TO experience it!
This point is so essential that it deserves to be repeated. Yes, we say, I can have a fantasy now, but what good will it do? It won’t ever be fulfilled (in the physical) and when I get to Truth I won’t care about that kind of thing anyways so what’s the point? The memory will just be flushed down the drain as if it never happened and the fulfillment will be lost.
No! Not true at all… In fact the exact opposite is true. If you remember, the function of consciousness is evolution. Consciousness only evolves; it does (and is) nothing else. So, as desire is made of consciousness, then desire has to evolve. The only direction desire can evolve is through reaching its ultimate fulfillment at some point. Like a bullet flying through the air, desire has a purpose that must be fulfilled in Truth. Truth never denies anything fulfillment, in fact it guarantees it. So, by default, you MUST be completely fulfilled in all your desires.
But what about desires-fantasies that are sadistic? They will take a very different form than you originally imagined, but the fulfillment from them will be complete. What might begin as a fantasy of revenge, for example, could be re-seen as an idea of receiving from those persons who hurt you an unlimited dedication to helping you overcome every trace of suffering that was created by your interaction with them. The actual fulfillment can only come in the Truth, so we have to see that the untrue world revenge fantasy that is built entirely on pain cannot really offer us fulfillment, only a temporary release of rage that feels good. But in Truth, rage demands reconciliation and reparation. And, we will be repaired as we were harmed, no matter how long it takes, and we will ultimately receive much more than we originally felt that we lost.
Additionally, any desire that reaches its fulfillment is not done, but then morphs into many new forms that go off and seek their own fulfillment, much like dandelion seeds seek out new ground, grow, develop and after reaching their fulfillment release seeds of their own. Desires naturally reproduce, but only after you have experienced their complete fulfillment.
Sometimes fantasy is just a daydream, while at other times it is something essential to our being. Our fantasies about a particular person and our physical relationship, for example, can interweave with the physical relationship we have with them, creating strong desires and feelings. Although we can be betrayed by physical realities, we cannot be betrayed by our fantasies as they are in Truth. Everything we wished to experience will be experienced by us in Truth. And even though that person may have not been what we hoped, it will in no way diminish our fantasy fulfillment in Truth.
Truth does not seek to diminish anything, only to glorify it, to hold it up forever. This is the natural function of the Truth, to augment everything to its complete fulfillment. So, no matter what fantasy you may have, you will experience it as a reality of fulfillment and no suffering in the future, in Truth.
If you are concerned that the time when you pass into the Truth is too far away, it is important to consider some things. First, it is not the nature of the Truth to disappoint. Rather, Truth finds a way to work with the fantasy of our physical experience to give us enough fulfillment to sustain us, for any particular desire, until such time as it can be experienced physically then in Truth or purely in Truth. Knowing that Truth exists, and that it by its very nature takes care of those who can see it, and you are engaging in Truth to some degree in your own consciousness by quantifying it and understanding what it is, you can rest assured that you will have enough until you get to fulfillment in Truth. This will increase as your understanding of Truth increases and your identification with Truth thinking grows. Many of your fantasies may even take physical form; it will depend on a case-by-case basis. But most can be lived out to some degree and in some form in the physical through alternate forms. The original form will always be fulfilled in Truth though.
Everything that comes out of our life is given to us to own, by Truth. We then own everything that those things give birth to and so forth. The material that comes out of untruth is not thrown away, but the good and pleasurable is kept and set up in Truth forever to be enjoyed by yourself and everyone without exception. The pain and anguish and victimization of our lives will be transformed into healing and friendship and support, and we will be augmented more than we were ever harmed. So, Truth has a way of making everything right.
Additionally, we will see that the pain we suffered never actually happened, and we will not even remember what pain was. We will also know that we don’t have to go back and re-experience it to know that it isn’t what we want. Being in Truth we will know we only want the Truth experience and nothing else.
Exercise: Fulfillment in Truth
In this exercise we will first learn how to engage in a state of mind that is entirely inside Truth. Then we will follow the progression of a “physical” desire from conception to fulfillment to rebirth in a variety of new desire-forms.
Begin by doing a five-count into the following, “On a count of five I will be the same as Truth.” When you reach five, relax for a few moments and then take stock of how you feel. You will probably notice feeling higher and better. One positive side effect of this state is being able to access the Truth level of experience at will, with a simple thought. In other words, you can quickly identify with your self in Truth without any effort. Secondly, you can bring your physical consciousness with you without limiting yourself. And, you can examine any desire at either a physical level, ordinary fantasy level or as it exists at Truth level.
Let’s begin by taking a random fantasy desire that you have at the physical level. After choosing that desire, recreate in your mind the basics of that fantasy. Choose a fantasy that is about pleasure, not rage or pain. Next, choose to re-experience this desire in the Truth form. Follow the desire forward to its fulfillment stage.
Now, notice how that fulfillment experience is free from pain, and how it would be impossible to have that kind of fulfillment at a physical level. Take into account that you are not yet in the Truth totally, so you can’t yet have a totally “in Truth” experience, and that the actual experience will be much more intense and total that what you are experiencing now. Being in the physical, you can only approximate the “in Truth” experience, but it gives you at least a glimpse of how great it can be.
Now, move beyond the fulfillment experience and explore some of the ideas that are given birth to at the fulfillment of this desire. Explore at least three. Explore each one simply by willing it.
You will notice that each new desire is a new story that can be followed to its fulfillment. This adds to the fulfillment of the original desire, augmenting it by including it in a larger storyline. The three offshoots may even weave together into a single storyline at different time periods. Until next time, continue to think about the relationship between your “physical” self and Truth and how you can use the Truth to actualize your role as a creator while still in the physical.
Visualization News – October 2005
Today we will establish CONCORD, which is the idea of peaceful cooperation between greater parties, between ourselves and the world at large. We will declare peace and harmony and then we will establish it through our state of mind and actions.
These steps will solidify who we will be in the world in the future. We will not be at war with others, either individually or societally. We will step and move in peaceful agreement with others, first in our intentions and then at a deeper level in our day-to-day lives.
We will not ask for anything as part of this treaty. We will not demand anything special. We will only negotiate what we are offering the world, rather than visa versa. This is a one-sided contract, for all purposes, although the effects will be very much agreeable for both parties and two-sided in terms of the effects.
We carry peace with us when we make this treaty. Everywhere we go we fly the peace flag. We act, move, speak and affect the world in a manner that is congruent with peacefulness.
If we slide to the left or right, we will not be dismayed by what happens. Our journey will not be fraught with conflict and unpleasant surprises. Instead, surprise will always give way to relief and more peace. As both holders of and bringers of peace we can expect this.
We are entitled to the effects of peace because we have taken on the role of being the cause. We act peacefully because we think peacefully. And we think and act peacefully because we have declared peace with the world in one sweeping gesture, with the intention of bringing peace to our relationship with the world.
War is outside our interest because peace is the great unifier. Love tells us that we are essentially guiltless, because we do not possess free will. Our life is pre-programmed from beginning to end, and we created it. So, since no person can affect our life in a negative way but can only bring about the exact effect we wanted, then the only role that others play in our life is to bring it into fruition. There is no blame in their actions or shame in our own “successes” or “failures.” We cannot fail; we can only succeed in the sense of having the exact life we wanted to create in the first place.
Our quality of life comes from other people. The world we live in and the things that happen to us are all formed by our interactions with other people, individually and in groups. They determine if we thrive or fail through their implicit consent or lack of it with the enactment of our plans. They make it happen or bring it to a stop. So we cannot look to other people for the answers, but can only see in them what we are doing to ourselves in a life that belongs entirely to us. They are, in an abstract sense, the servants that carry our own unseen orders to our life.
If this is so, then we must declare peace as quickly as possible. Because, when we are not explicitly declaring peace with the world we are by default declaring war with it. We demand that we have a life that looks a certain way, but by doing so we put the chickens in charge of the farm, so to speak. Our life only belongs to us and when we disown our life and hand it off to other beings to run, which is impossible as it is innately our own, we essentially can only see pain and pleasure, fear and chaos swirling in confusion until we take control again.
We must act and live as if we were in control of our life if we expect to see anything but pain. This happens in stages in one sense, but all at once in another. The formation of a belief that life is ours to do with as we please is accomplished first by our making an assertion that we don’t yet fully believe in, and then through a series of steps of involvement we guide our own activities and circumstances by means of free choice made as if we were the owners of our lives.
So, now we move on to the practical end of doing this. State that you want to own your life fully and completely and that you believe that you already do.
Next, think of one thing you want to happen. Don’t worry about whether or not it is “realistic” or if it is too extravagant or not in character with the overall tone of your life. Think about what you want. Now, as the creator of your life, decide that it will happen and when. Don’t worry about the how.
Now, you may think that the next step will be to wait around and see if this effort succeeded, but this won’t be the case. Now, we are going to take some element we don’t like about our life, as general and abstract as our being unhappy to perhaps something more specific like a physical condition or illness. Again, don’t worry about whether or not it is realistic. Just affirm that as the creator and owner of your own life, which is entirely internal to your own mind, that you want X to happen and or Y to be gone from your life. Say it with as much conviction as you can muster in the moment.
Now, our next step is to declare peace with the world. This includes everybody and every individual person and relationship we have. We declare peace because in light of who we are, as the owners of our own life, which is entirely internal to us we are not threatened and only helped by everyone and everything that happens.
Say as follows, “I now declare total peace with the world and with every individual within it, all the way up the chain to God Himself. This peace is total and unequivocal and cannot be broken by anyone because I am the creator of my own life and my own life is entirely internal to me. I demand peace with the world coming from myself to the world and in this way the world will be forced to make peace with me, for I am the creator of my own life. This peace is forever and will always remain unbroken. It goes with me everywhere. There are no exceptions to it.”
After saying this as if you mean it, contemplate the thoughts and feelings that come up while you said it and afterwards. Did it bring to you some peace of mind? Or, did it raise some new questions for you. How does it make you feel differently about your relationships with people in general? Have you lost touch with love?
What to expect is now another issue. Focus only on the peace you are bringing to the world. You will see it grow and evolve. Don’t expect or even want totality of peace immediately. Rather, look for encouraging signs of peace, especially within yourself. See how you feel more peaceful, more at peace with what is.
There are many levels of healing that will come out of this exercise. It is best to do it once per day, early in the day. Then, go about your business as usual. You will see the results every day and they will accumulate and grow right before your eyes, internally and externally.
What will become the most brilliantly clear to you over time is that you were at war with the world on many different levels, and now you are at peace with it. Seeing what being at war with others meant, and seeing peace before you now, you will really see and appreciate that irony that you were your own worst enemy all along.
