The Twenty-Six Healing Keys (Part II of IX)

Hello and welcome back! Today I will be continuing with part two of a nine-part series on the theme of internal healing. I have to admit that I generated this material as part of my attempt to heal myself of a chronic health condition. Although these techniques have been very valuable to me, they haven’t healed me physically, so at this point you should think of them as purely healing to the psyche. There are twenty-six “healing keys” in all, but we will only be discussing the third through fifth keys in this edition, which is plenty to work with in one sitting. In fact, I would recommend breaking it up over several sessions if possible. For October 2003, I will roll out numbers six through eight of the “Healing Keys.”

Before I discuss the first healing key, I want to explain the meditation that you will use with all these healing keys. The meditation is specific to this exercise, although it could be used in other contexts. We will call it the “healing lock” meditation. This meditation will specifically work with each “healing key” in the best possible way to release its maximum positive impact on you. Begin by getting relaxed and have a notebook and pen handy.

Visualize a gold or copper circle with a black (old fashioned) keyhole design in the middle (see above). As you breath in, say internally, “I am in healing lock meditation on…,” here you breath out slowly, saying internally, “…the healing key of ____healing____ .” You will fill those spaces in with the name of the healing key, which is always described in the form “x healing y.” Conceptualize this meditation as being the perfect lock for the key to operate in, the perfect means to achieve the healing. Simply plug in the name of the healing key after reading the description and memorizing its basic meaning. If you have insights during your meditation, you can jot them down at the end of the meditation period.

We will begin today by discussing the third healing key, which is subconscious love healing the process of becoming that comes from our core (subconscious) experience. Core experience is the origin of our conscious experience. In order to heal core, we have to get back to the level of consciousness where emotions and perceptions have not yet reached our conscious mind. The key to healing core is subconscious love. Conscious love is healing but subconscious love heals where we are coming from, because it can perceive it directly and is therefore more unlimited. Subconscious love development is reflected in dreams, undercurrents of emotion, moods and states of mind. By developing unconditional love at the subconscious level, we heal the process of becoming who we are. It reveals our potential and heals all hidden pain. It also may (in theory) help heal illness and psychological problems gradually.

Subconscious love is very healing and helpful. It manifests in a number of ways that can help us function more successfully. It softens our demeanor and eases our interaction with others. It causes others to feel less tense and threatened around us. It has an aspect of permeating everything, so that it fills the environment in a total way, rather than just where our attention is currently directed. It creates a greater empathic connection with others, and effects how our words impact the subconscious minds of others. It can help us heal our own wounded feelings and troubled undercurrents. If it says anything, it is that before we are born and after we die, there is always a place for us that is loving and non-judgmental. During life it will have to be a place within ourselves.

The fourth key of healing is activity and circumstances being healed by Spirit entering the physical. Activity is our power expressing the limitations of our understanding. Each person has a limitation to the amount of consciousness/information they have access to, and that limitation defines the nature of their activities. So, to the degree that you buy into a materialistic outlook, it will draw your activities into a certain form.

If you think of a yin and yang symbol, the dark and light portions define each other. In the same way, activity and circumstances are really two different parts of the same process. As a Spirit being in a physical form, not only are your own activities predetermined, but your circumstances are as well, and the two are not separate but one interlocking mechanism. What is happening to you is in no way separate from who you are in the moment. So, circumstance is a form of our own activity.

Activity shines when it has a larger framework or context to work in. This larger framework can be created by releasing materialism and bringing Spirit consciousness into your activity. By allowing Spirit to enter the physical in the form of your activity you also enlarge the range of your circumstances. As you circumstances become freed up by Spirit, you are able to do more and reach farther.

To bring Spirit into activity, you must engage your mind in some sort of symbolic interplay between your activity and Spirit. This symbolic union creates the actual union of Spirit and activity, because Spirit is entirely a consciousness process. This is an alignment of the two through intent. Essentially, the activity is already made of Spirit, but we are just bringing that understanding that is Spirit into our conscious mind in terms of our activities. Then, activity and circumstances can both change for the better, healing activity and circumstances by improving them. Please see the material on my web site at http://www.geocities.com/visualizenews/spiritindex.html for more information on Spirit.

The fifth healing key is experiencing ecstasy, which heals the process of dying. Ecstasy is the key to being alive. It is only through a small element of ecstasy in being alive that we continue to exist. That ecstasy is magnified after “death.” The essence of what we are is in ecstasy and without it we are lifeless. Our lack of ecstasy can be healed by our meditating on it and then as a result feeling it and understanding it more and more.

When ecstasy goes beyond a certain level we have to go out of body because our physical definition cannot encompass it. It is not felt through specific circumstances, but shines through all circumstances. It has no time, no progression and does not lead anywhere. It is the first experience and last experience and is our true nature. By healing it we are simply engaging in it by choice. You have to become it in order to feel it, because it is not time/experientially related. It allows us to live fully as long as we are meant to and to release when the time is right.

An ironic note to this is that ego, our sense of self, is actually the key to death. Through the limitations of our ego we undergo many deaths and losses, as well as an increasing sense of loss throughout our lives. It is only ego that can die or lose in this way because the true nature of reality is Spirit, where we never die and are made of consciousness. We are denied nothing in Spirit, including our ability to generate an ego and physical experiences. Being human is ultimately a psychological condition. By overcoming ego we may someday actually transcend our physicality and leave it behind.

Continue to work on these meditation exercises and record your insights. Each meditation will unfold a more and more complex picture that you can explore and unravel. I think of meditation of this sort as being a whole story. Sometimes you are floundering and sometimes it will take you to a very high place. Over time, your understanding of each of these topics will progress, as will your power to use that knowledge to your own advantage. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it. Good luck until next time.

The Twenty-Six Healing Keys (Part III of IX)

Hello and welcome back! Today I will be continuing with part three of a nine-part series on the theme of internal healing. I have to admit that I generated this material as part of my attempt to heal myself of a chronic health condition. Although these techniques have been very valuable to me, they haven’t healed me physically, so at this point you should think of them as purely healing to the psyche. There are twenty-six “healing keys” in all, but we will only be discussing the sixth through eighth keys in this edition, which is plenty to work with in one sitting. In fact, I would recommend breaking it up over several sessions if possible. For November 2003, I will roll out numbers nine through eleven of the “Healing Keys.”

We will begin today by discussing the sixth healing key, which is transparency / (psychological) nakedness healing the self as an autonomous whole. It is our essential nature to be naked. Clothing and social behaviors are learned and also serve to divert our attention away from who and what we are. “Nakedness” is also less literally expressed when we are truly and frankly being ourselves without apology; our uninhibited self-expression.

Nakedness is only made negative when the self is self-conscious. This happens through a warped self-definition based on societal mores and values. These “values” serve as a filter for truth when the truth does not need a filter. A filter hurts the truth by diluting it. Any dilution contaminates it. The idea of original sin or a state on innate contamination of being that has to be covered up with clothes, possession, alcohol, mannerisms, machismo, wealth and other junk that render the person semi-tolerable to artificially rarified tastes are all ideas that come out of that fundamental idea of the person being “not good enough.”

Imagine that you walked into a room and someone slashed you across the face with a knife. Then, a series of other people who have already been slashed as well offered you various ways to cover the wound so that it would be less visible, but no one would give you the means to heal the wound. The more you tried to show your wound to get sympathy to elicit a helpful response from others, the more unsympathetic others would be because they are all similarly wounded and they have been “cultured” into associating shame with the wound. For them the challenge is to hide the wound, and to even go so far as to deny its existence. Those who are the most successful at this type of lying become the most popular and occupy the A-list crowd for this culture.

So, how do you heal the wound? You will never heal it by denying its existence, and apparently no one will help you heal it. First, you have to acknowledge that there is no shame in having the wound. We allowed ourselves to be injured and taken in by cultural values that were false, but we were not secure enough to defend ourselves. Secondly, the wound must be treated. In order to treat it properly you must understand the exact nature of the wound and address it. Being made to feel like you are less than whole and need to jump through thousands of hoops in order to win back the self-respect that has been stripped from you is the nature of the wound.

People who are embarrassed to express themselves have a creative flow within that craves expression. However, they are concerned that their perceived flaws, such as being undereducated, a poor writer, a poor artist, awkward, ugly or being self-conscious will be so painful to reveal that it will nullify any joy they will get from their self-expression. So, they hide their voice and talents.

When a person sees these supposed flaws as the wounds they actually are, the person will be able to see how circumstances imposed these “flaws” on their being. The abusive father who made you self-conscious, the intrusive mother who demanded that you grow to hate the way your body looks or the brother who shames you at every opportunity. All these circumstances imposed character flaws on us. Nothing in life happens without a “good reason.” Any person who would think otherwise and imposes blame is blind to the nature of reality. The hidden dynamics of our early lives can be very damaging.

So, you see how your flaws are actually hurts that have gone untreated. The next step is to fully examine them in order to determine how to best fix them. Psychological nudity is healed by getting used to it. Through seeing how people react to you, you begin to understand that even when you are psychologically naked, others only see a fraction of you. They mostly ignore you or see a fragment of what you are expressing that is in their perceptual wavelength.

The interests and intelligence of the person, how you look to them, their hidden motives and so forth all limit what they can see and hear. It is ok because that fragment of their attention is all they need to get out of you. By expressing yourself you realize that people can’t see you very well, and so you are free to be yourself without fear. People will come away with their needs met at a Spiritual level.

People sometimes react with anger or violence to what you say, but that is not so much a reaction to you as to something within themselves. By taking any real stance you are automatically taking a stance that challenges someone’s beliefs and threatens them. By finding the meaning of the experience of being targeted in this way you realize that you can only have the most fulfilling life you are meant to have, and no one can victimize you unless it is part of an experience that leads you to what you want, ultimately.

By healing your ability to be naked you become joyful and pretense falls away. You have a direct experience of life and are less dependent on societal crutches. You can be fully alive rather than feel like an observer of the process of life. You become whole and uncontaminated. It also helps you appreciate the moment by moment process.

Through this healing you reveal yourself to both yourself and others. Sickness falls away as you stop disagreeing with yourself. Poverty falls away as you become an object in motion rather than at rest. All resources become fuel. You connect and love fully. You fulfill yourself rather than asking for it. You heal your identity, your autonomy and your wholeness, and reconnect with your intent to be fully alive.

Exercise: Be Yourself

Choose a situation where you are around a person or people you are friends with. Try saying what you feel throughout the conversation. If you find yourself being attacked and encouraged to defend yourself, instead take the opportunity to be completely honest and come back to your own feelings. Avoid turning your feelings into global generalizations; only talk about how you feel and see things. Express yourself without fear and see where it takes you.

The seventh key of healing is touch at a Spirit level healing relationships. [If you are unfamiliar with Spirit, please review my material on Spirit at http://www.geocities.com/visualizenews/spiritindex.html .] By touch I mean contact, such as social contact or intimacy. Touch transmits something, but at a physical level you are deeply filtering out most of what the other person is and feels. You limit yourself to very literal levels of involvement with that person based on looks, status, wealth, personality and wish fulfillment. Deeper levels of interaction are often shut out.

In order to heal touch, we have to experience the overlapping of our Spirit being with another’s at Spirit level. This interaction in overlapping is something that defies words. This experience heals contact by generating an entirely new and completely fulfilling level of contact. Even though another person might not experience it consciously, they will experience it at some level of their being. Then the nature of the contact takes on a Spiritual tone.

This intimacy does not lead to psychological bondage, but deeper pleasure and creativity. Problems are bypassed for more positive interactions. The heart is touched, when appropriate. The important element of the healing is not in denying anything about either of you, but plugging in to the real level of interaction. This heals relationships.

Ultimately, each person is getting what they want out of any interaction in the sense that life is ultimately the fulfillment of our desires. By engaging in Spirit contact you are expressing that this person is a Spiritual being, and their physical personality is just a shadowy projection of that much greater being.

Exercise: Spirit Touch

In this exercise we will touch another person at Spirit level, so that our Spirit level beings overlap temporarily. Begin by taking any situation with another person. See your Spirit body as a semi-transparent body of multicolored lights that is larger than you. See a similar body around the person you are interacting with. See your Spirit bodies touching hands and overlapping temporarily. Feel this interaction and notice any thoughts, emotions and images that come through.

Next, withdraw the Spirit contact and notice how this Spirit contact changes the tone of your interaction with this person. When you begin to feel disconnected from the person or hostile towards them, you can redo this interaction. You can also perform this visualization at any distance and at any time.

Don’t worry about the person’s Spirit body not wanting to do this or feeling violated. At Spirit level, events can only happen that are part of the person’s desires, so you can’t injure their Spirit self. If you have repeated strong feelings during this exercise, you might want to discuss the feelings coming through to you to create a bridge of communication, but keep in mind the nature of the relationship and how personal you can get with the person before doing this.

The eighth healing key is mirror heart healing inner conflict between desires. Your mirror heart is a reflection of your feelings that creates a sense of completion within yourself. On an everyday level you are aware of how you feel. You also have “mirror” feelings, emotions that are suppressed by your conscious mind. You don’t feel them consciously, but in a sense you do because they create a kind of mood. They are real and effect how you respond to things. They also effect what happens to you.

In order to access these feelings, you have to access your “mirror heart.” You can do this with a simple visualization. When you have done it, you will experience various unfamiliar emotions that relate to the missing half of your psyche. This is, in a sense, your missing self. It is the self that you have buried and sublimated. Revealing these emotions leads to a self-assessment, a reevaluation of your goals and desires. You will realize that you have somewhat different desires than you originally thought, and knowing and feeling these changed desires will bring a relief of internal pressure.

A person who reveals their mirror heart achieves a kind of inner certainty. There is a simplification of things. Desires are pared down. There is a backing down or retreat in some areas and a gathering up of force in others. The mirror heart when revealed heals inconsistencies and inner conflicts of desires and creates a united, singular personality free from inner conflict. However, in healing conflict between inner desires it can also reveal dark and self-destructive desires that have been suppressed by the conscious mind, so be prepared for that as well.

It’s easier to approach the physical from the outlook of it being a place where truth-consciousness (consciousness moving toward discovering the truth) and anti-consciousness (consciousness bent on moving deeper into illusion and away from awareness) mix. This mixing creates an experience of internal conflict that arises and naturally expresses itself as physical experience. In order to be “in” the physical, you have to be born into that world, which is the symbolic expression of the emotional quality of the physical. The physical is not so much a “place” as it is a range of feelings. Those feelings have an innate tension that can only be maintained by creating a world where people can only enter into it by being born and dying.

Being able to just pop in and out of the physical experience would defuse the feeling-quality of the physical and make it into something else. The physical has a rigid, non-fluid and literal feeling quality. This all translates into physical laws. Higher beings can generate physical experiences at will in their imagination. However, they do this with the awareness that it isn’t real, so it isn’t really a wholly physical experience. They are aware that they can leave at any time. The only way to have the fully physical experience is to be born into it and die out of it.

A person moves through the physical having certain experiences. Those experiences are entirely generated by the person’s feelings. We are used to looking at ourselves, our environment and other people as being separate. However, the quality of feeling that is the physical spectrum of experience has one quality of being consistent. A toaster remains a toaster day after day. That is a limitation in the quality of feeling of the physical spectrum of experience.

By exploring your mirror heart you can feel the missing emotions that your own consciousness has buried. This in turn effects your physical life in certain ways. With a higher degree of emotional self-awareness you can make better decisions and know what you want more clearly. This clarity heals some of the inner conflict that expresses itself as external conflict in your life. The emotional experience is the key.

This is all the material for this month. Try both the exercises as well as the meditations for each healing key presented when you have a chance. We will discuss three new healing keys next month.
