Visualization News – October 2004

Welcome back to another edition of Visualization News! I can’t believe it is 2005 and we’re still alive and kicking! Will the wonders never cease? This month we will be discussing the concept of Truth’s Vision. We will begin to use it to replace our own usual mode of seeing the world with it by degrees and observe the changes that this brings.

Above is kitty, who passed away recently. I learned the hard way that veterinarians can bully you into having unnecessary dental cleaning that can kill your cat or dog. Surgery is always serious, so think twice before putting your pet through that. My cat had a stroke during surgery that left her blind and paralyzed. I decided to let her go. Kitty was a joy to have around and she will be missed. She was a sweetheart and a natural ham.

First there is the basic concept of Truth’s Vision, which is how the Truth sees the world. As we have discussed before, Truth is the highest expression of consciousness and is real and alive. In fact, this is who we most fundamentally are. There has to be a fundamental Truth in order for there to be a framework off of which illusions can hang. Some sort of reality has to exist to manifest illusions, or there would be nothing at all.

Consciousness is the only measuring stick of reality. Everything we see is a kind of consciousness symbol that places some aspect of our inner reality outside of ourselves. We create these feelings, symbols and thoughts out of our desires. Our experience in consciousness is a process that is constantly in motion. The essence of that motion is evolution. Every point in consciousness is entirely unique, and every experience of consciousness is tied to some kind of time. The motion of that time is towards a higher evolution of understanding, which is built entirely new and unique experiences.

In consciousness from the point of view of our identity in Truth, we have desires, which in turn manifest identities out of us. That is to say, that our identities are creations we use to explore different desires. Our viewpoint on everything from Truth is defined by love and complete harmony with all other consciousnesses in Truth. This is because we ultimately have only one identity, and so our separate identities operate in complete unity of desire.

Every desire we have in Truth involves every other consciousness in Truth. We share all our experiences automatically with others and we draw on the experiences of others for our own inspiration. We often engage in active co-creation with other identities in Truth. Our own present condition is one such process of co-creation. We individually get what we want out of this creation at the Truth level, but we experience it as frustration to a certain degree at this level.

At the moment we conceive of any desire in Truth, we receive it as a whole and complete idea that automatically includes the idea of the fulfillment of that desire. So, technically, all our desires are fulfilled the instant we conceive of them. If that desire includes an identity that is more deeply lodged in linear time, then there will be an identity that will be produced that will experience that fulfillment in a certain period of time. In this way our fulfillment appears to not be instantaneous, but this is only in appearance.

Truth’s Vision is how we see things from our identity in Truth. Although we are experiencing a “physical” world and body, and the limitations thereof, this is only mind-created. So, we can change our experience by shifting our perception. We will do this in a gradual manner that will be systematic and will allow us to gradually absorb and integrate a different way of looking at the world while seeing how it changes our feelings and our life.

The Truth can only work for good. It does not punish or attack. So, you can let go of any fear you might have about seeing the truth. The truth about yourself is beautiful, not ugly. It does not reveal a monster who deserves to be rooted out and punished. It sees past hurt and distortion to root causes and brings forgiveness to where it is needed. It undoes the past of pain and ignorance.

I use a system for development of this idea that you might want to use as well. I call the first level of my experience of Truth’s Vision as Ultra-Red. Then, following the spectrum of colors, we have next Ultra-Orange, Yellow, Green then Blue and finally Purple. After that, we step up to Ultra-Red 2, Ultra-Orange 2 and so forth. So levels three and four follow. This system of progression helps us remember what level of advancement we are at by giving us a color to associate it with.

Let’s discuss some of the themes that we will run into in our advancement through this system. First, there is the resolution of fear. We will encounter various stages of releasing fear. We will find ways to carve away fear from our desires and will feel more persuaded to share our desires with Truth. This process will lead to unexpected fulfillment of desires and an increasing sense of synchronicity. You will often find that your desires are met in unexpected ways. We may also begin to fear situations and people less than we used to, and be less inclined to assume a defensive gesture, as defense is just another form of attack, an extension of hate.

Another theme will be abstraction. You may find that although it is cold or hot out, you will not feel uncomfortable. This is almost a bit startling at first. In conditions where you would be normally comfortable you may feel the cold or heat but not in a way that elicits discomfort. This especially happens as you get up into the Ultra-2 range of colors. It can be quite remarkable to feel this; it is hard to describe. This ability comes out of abstraction, which means that reality is more mental and less physical for you. You see events from a more abstract and “consciousness” perspective. You feel more calm and at peace with every situation. You feel less fear and anticipate more fulfillment, and you get it.

You may even find yourself thinking in ways that you never did before. For example, you may stop “planning” what you want to do and just live in a flowing moment-by-moment process that feels completely comfortable. You may relate to your body and your usual routines and habits in a more flexible way, but everything gets done. You may plant the seeds of new creative projects very easily. Your manner of interfacing with other people may improve.

The facing of problems will gradually evolve into an entirely new process. You may even stop seeing a problem where there was one before, instead seeing the threads of meaning that bind that situation together and allowing it to evolve and release in your own mind.

The following exercise will embody what we have just discussed. It will have two phases; the first phase is an ongoing process and the second is to be added on when you reach a certain comfort level with phase I.

Exercise (Phase I): Truth’s Vision

Begin this exercise by getting relaxed and comfortable. Open your mind with no particular focus until your thoughts have settled down. Then, say out loud, “I will now count from one to fifty, and by the time I reach fifty, I will be in Truth’s Vision (or God’s Vision if you’re comfortable with the “G” word) at Ultra-Red level.” If you remember, this is our beginning level of being in Truth’s Vision state. Now, count slowly from one to fifty, concentrating lightly on what you are trying to do.

When you reach fifty, take stock of how you feel. Do you notice any discernable difference? You may notice that you feel better, more calm and abstract and emotionally more stable. Think about your current life situation and see what insights you can give yourself from this state. How do you view your current problems? What about your current choices and opportunities? Get a feeling for how this state as it expresses itself through you views the world.

Continue this exercise once per day, each day proceeding to the next higher level. So, on day two you will go to Ultra-Orange, day three to Ultra-Yellow and so forth. Continue this process until you reach Ultra-Red 3. At this point proceed to Exercise Phase II, below.

Exercise (Phase II): Self in Truth

In this exercise we will start to develop a self-concept that is based on who we really are rather than our appearance of identity based on our body, past, “personality” and so forth. We will reach back to the person we are in Truth, who we always have been and always will be, behind the scenes. This person is made of consciousness, is whole, happy, safe, loved by all beings as it loves all beings. It is able to create all aspects of its own circumstances simply by wishing them. Its imagination is its reality. All its desires are fulfilled by Truth. It is never alone, unloved, in pain, in fear or otherwise suffering. It can only imagine what such states would feel like. It imagines the physical identity that you now have and hides its true identity from itself through mental sleight-of-hand.

To partially experience this self, we take it in small steps. Begin by saying, out loud, “On a count of one to five, I will be my self as it was, is and always will be in Truth.” Then, count from one to five. You may experience a feeling of pulling away from yourself and crossing a kind of invisible boundary into another state. Don’t expect fireworks here, this is just a beginning and the shift is subtle. Focus on sustaining this new state by not becoming distracted. Notice how this state distances you from your own emotional reactions, and places you in a kind of placid calm, (but not numb), state.

As you practice this state every day, several times a day, notice how it pulls you out of upset states of mind. But, it requires the intention to remain detached in order to maintain it. You can drop the previous practice with the Ultra-colors at this point and focus on this practice entirely. In my next edition I will discuss how we can take this even further. In 2005, have a great year and remember that practice makes perfection human-accessible!

Take me home!
