Visualization News – June 2005

Hello and welcome back to Visualization News. In this edition we will be discussing Spirit Magic. Spirit is the plane of existence and state of mind that I discuss in great detail on my home web page at www.geocities.com/visualizenews/spiritindex.html . I will try to summarize briefly the introductory material from that area of my site before we go any further.

Spirit Magic differs from standard magic in that it is Spiritual in its effects. Although all events are ultimately Spiritual in their effects, I’m referring here to the illusory physical form that your magical work takes. The effects rendered by Spirit Magic do not engage your self or others in harm, but move them forward toward the fulfillment of their desires.

Because God/Truth is the single identity that we all are, ultimately, and that single identity is divided up into our individual identities, each identity can pursue its desires in perfect synchronicity with all other identities. And, further, our actions entirely fall within the will of God/Truth. But, we have the illusion of free will so that we may enjoy the process of selection and choice.

Spirit is the means by which God/Truth communicates with us in our current physical state or any other state that falls within the realm of perception. God/Truth and all identities exist together beyond all perception in a state of direct contact without the need for a symbolic language such as perception to act as an intermediary.

Spirit is a state of consciousness and a plane of existence that does not judge. Beings see clearly that there is no free will and therefore have no feelings of guilt over what they did in the physical world nor do they feel anger over what was done to them there. They also clearly see that they have never and never could injure others in reality. Harm only appears to happen in worlds that are co-created through imagining them.

Spirit is a place of instantaneous fulfillment, because anything that is desired can be experienced immediately. This is made possible by the fact that Spirit is a state of consciousness that is free from internal impediments, so that what consciousness desires is immediately understood. That understanding is an idea that includes the form and all possible experiences involving that thing or experience.

There are no problems in Spirit unless the Spirit being imagines that they are in some lower plane of existence, such as the physical world.

Also, all experiences and knowledge of all beings in Spirit are public property. Everyone can experience any other person’s experiences as if they were their own. In fact, it is typical in Spirit to have a vast number of beings observing through co-experiencing everything that you do (and have done).

Although most events seem dull and ordinary, Spirit beings can harvest abstract information from our experiences that we would not be able to consciously look for. So, in essence, everything we experience benefits everyone else in Spirit. Our experiences are all full of meaning that we cannot see, and the meaning “mined” from our experiences by other beings is particular to them. In other words, if being A mines being B’s experience, then the meaning mined from that experience will be unique in existence.

During our physical life, we continue to exist in Spirit. We never leave Spirit; we are there forever. We co-create our physical lives based on our desire to have that experience for any number of possible reasons. When we return to Spirit we keep those aspects of our identity that we continue to want. We will by degrees return to our original Spirit identity at the rate we are comfortable with.

Time is experiential in Spirit but there is no set timeline. Each individual person’s experience is a timeline. Time is essentially created by each person in Spirit based on what they want to experience. Two people can meet after a period of separation that was, experientially, years for one being and seconds for the other.

Everything exists in its idealized state in Spirit. The best and highest version of what you imagine is the default unless you specify something else. It is impossible to do harm to others in Spirit, although you can imagine it as we mentioned earlier. You can imagine any experience, including any possible physical experience.

The reason for the absence of harm to others is twofold. First, each being in Spirit entirely creates their experience. They own their experience because it is their own mind. Consciousness belongs to the identity that it emanates from. Secondly, there is no desire to harm others due to the absence of malice. Malice is rooted in guilt and anger as well as lack of communication. In Spirit there is always perfect communication so there is perfect understanding there as well.

You would think that with an eternity to fill with experiences there would be a definite process of running out of things to do in Spirit. However, because it is a consciousness world and not a physical environment, you can combine your understanding with the understanding of any other being from any of their experiences throughout a vast range of time. This binding of identities alone can reveal a millennia of experiences.

But, additionally, Spirit offers an ever-expanding range of experiences moving up the scale toward complete abstraction. As we have mentioned before, the vastest range of experiences involves not the physical, which is bound to very tight and confining sets of limitations, but the most abstract ideas in existence. Because of the vast range of these ideas and their lack of a physical limit, their exploration is essentially unlimited. Any level of understanding explored of an idea in the abstract can be reached, and then an even higher level explored, and so on without end. This does not even take into account the infinite possible permutations and combinations of these abstract ideas.

Let’s return to the topic of Spirit Magic. Because we see a world of limitations, we tend to think of magic in terms of a kind of manipulation of the environment using rituals and intent. If we get what we want, it is always at a cost to others.

Several examples come to mind out of my many personal experiences. Before I engaged in Spirit, I used mundane magic to a limited degree. I eventually stopped because I could see that it was working but that it was causing problems for other people. I wasn’t comfortable with that aspect of the experience.

My fears and concerns about harming others eventually caused me to give up magic completely. I used Spirit Magic for the first time to successfully extract myself from a very bad roommate situation that I had been stuck in for a long time. This worked out well for both my roommate and myself.

For some reason, I didn’t use Spirit Magic again until recently. A new wave of understanding relating to it has opened it up to me again and I am now reawakening my interest in it. I used it successfully to induce a dream that showed me raw Spirit unconditional happiness. It was a very powerful experience.

It may seem like a limiting factor that your spell cannot cause harm to others. However, because Spirit is in fact reality and physical experience is a fiction, the complex relationships between people and events here are too convoluted to really pull apart and analyze in any meaningful way. In other words, you can’t decipher how a particular effect can be achieved without harm to others, but you don’t have to.

This is because although you are in the physical, the physical does not really exist and technically you are in Spirit right now. The physical is just a complex illusion that is being sustained by your mind. You actually have all of the unlimited powers of your Spirit self right at this moment. Spirit Magic is a means for us to begin to tap into those abilities and use them consciously in the physical world.

So what is involved in creating and casting a Spirit spell? First, we must figure out what we want to achieve. What kind of goals can we pursue? Basically, any goals that are not inherently based on hurting other people are fine. What about global goals, like world peace? Well, those kinds of goals are fine, but for now lets make them more personal.

The goals that are closest to your heart and involve the most desire on your part are the best to pursue. Any goal that you are fully resolved to fulfill except for some small remnant of doubt is the best. It can be long term or short term. Start with three to ten goals that you want to pursue or things or experiences you want to have. Write them down now. Do this spontaneously and without thinking about it.

Now that you have them on paper, we can figure out the best form for the spell you will create for each thing we want. Let’s establish a formalized ritual to go by for all your Spirit spells. Put your hands together in the “praying hands” position and raise them up at above to a 45-degree angle from your face. Say, “This is a Spirit Spell; Hail Spirit!”

Now, look at the first item on the list you wrote out. We will want to create a visual image that we can act out with our hands to express our intent for the first item. We will not try to literally imagine the event or item or goal, but a dynamic flow of Spirit energy raining down and enacting the spell. This is an intuitive thing based on your own feelings in the moment. We will also create some words to go with this movement and imagery.

For example, let’s say I want $5,000 without any labor. I raise my hands, look up above my hands and say, “This is a Spirit Spell; Hail Spirit!” Then, I say, “From Spirit’s endless flow may I receive $5,000 with no associated labor, for my own use, as soon as possible.” I separate my hands and place the out in front of my face, about a foot away, at chin level, as if asking preparing to receive.

Next, I say, “Spirit’s power to create is infinite. This money flows to me now. It comes to me from the endless wealth of Spirit to fulfill my desire. Let it be so now.” I see the Spirit energy raining down onto both my hands. I hold my hands palms upward and then bring the hands together in front of me. I say, “As I am enriched, may I bring prosperity to others.”

Finally, to close the spell, I place my hands in the original position, look up above my hands and say, “Hail Spirit!” This ends the spell.

Try this process yourself. I you want, you can do this exact spell as I have described. Then, try doing a spell based on the first desire on your list. The beginning and ending of the spell above can be used on all of them. The middle part is invented by you, based on what you want. Whatever you say and do with you hands for each spell is up to you, but should include a description of what you want, but without any unnecessary details. Include some visualization of the flow of energy from Spirit to you, which will in turn manifest what you want. Move your hands based on that visual imagery.

You can be at ease, knowing that whatever you want and get from Spirit will not harm others, but will move them toward the fulfillment of their desires. Don’t be surprised if other people effected by the spell take a small or significant step towards their own fulfillment when you get what you want.

Don’t get too hung up on the form that the fulfillment takes, just know that your desire will be fulfilled in a satisfactory way. You won’t end up feeling jipped. A Spirit spell won’t appear to work until your desire associated with it has completely ripened, so if there is a long delay, look at the intensity of your desire. Consider rewording the desire to allow a less specific but equally fulfilling effect.

After completing your first Spirit spell, check it off your list. When you have the time, do a spell for each of these desires. Remember that the spell doesn’t have to be long and wordy. You will sense intuitively what you need to see, do and say for each one. Have a great month ahead and if you can, please drop a few dollars in the jar for the people who have been made homeless in Louisiana and other gulf states by the recent hurricane. And, if you feel moved to do so, ask Spirit to help them as much as possible. Take care.

Visualization News – July 2005

In this issue we will be discussing the issue of resolving the conflict between how you think in and about the world of Spirit vs. how you think of and react to the physical world. There is an obvious difference between these two worlds and they seem to play by completely different rules.

On the one hand you have Spirit, which is a world of consciousness where you have unlimited power to experience things and interact with others on various levels. You create your experience in your own mind and interact with the minds of others. You can’t hurt others or be hurt, unless you want that particular illusion, in which case it is co-manufactured by yourself and the other party.

In Spirit, your desires always mesh perfectly with the desires of others. What you want involving person A, person A simultaneously wants involving you. You share a mutual identity with all beings, which is God. Spirit is eternal and time is only manufactured by yourself in order to have particular experiences. There is no single timeline over all beings.

Now, let’s try to apply these ideas to the physical. Obviously we run into many problems when we try to think this way about the physical. The limitations of the physical make it seemingly impossible to think about it the way we do about Spirit. But, the truth is that there is no physical world, only Spirit. And, although we have overlaid an illusion of physicality onto our own minds, we cannot alter the nature of Truth. In other words, Spirit is always Spirit and always operates by the same laws, regardless of where we think we are.

If we imagine ourselves as being a Spirit being and being in Spirit plane, we will think and feel and have experiences that match our understanding of Spirit. In doing so, we have imagined being someone who we think of as not being ourselves. But, if we imagine ourselves as we are now, transplanted into the Spirit plane, then we are simply a Spirit being who is choosing to think and act as if we were a limited being. We can still operate as a Spirit being.

It is likely that in such a situation we will quickly give up choosing to feel like a physical being and start to relate to Spirit plane as the Spirit being that we are. So, in essence, the self we imagine as being “in Spirit” is no different than our physical self. We are our own Spirit identity.

This is the reason Spirit magic works for us. We have never left Spirit and we are in it right now. We are still a Spirit being, so by expressing any desire it will be fulfilled in time. The ritual of casting a “spell” is simply a way of bridging the perceptual gap between our physical identity and Spirit identity, which is perceived but not real. In actuality, everything that we want will ultimately be fulfilled. The act of wanting is enough. Having what we want is one of our primary purposes for being.

So why does the physical behave so differently from Spirit? It seems to, but it actually functions in exactly the same way. To explain the seeming contradiction between the two takes a bit of effort, so let’s begin.

Our Spirit identity is forever. It does not disappear in order to become physical. It can move freely in and out of any experience. It can limit itself to a lower illusory identity as well, for certain pre-established periods of time. Truth prevents any being becoming trapped permanently in its own creation. A portion of the consciousness engages in the illusion of that life while the entire Spirit self remains behind during the experience.

Those portions of the Spirit consciousness that wish to identify with that new identity will do so to whatever degree they desire. There are many levels of involvement in an illusory self that are above the physical but below Spirit. There are even countless multiple levels of involvement with it from within Spirit.

From a Spirit perspective, a desire is an idea. But, an idea is also a whole experience. The desire and the fulfillment of that desire are part of one single idea. This desire/fulfillment idea is like a bubble that contains all the time and experiences needed to explore and fulfill the desire. So, the fulfillment of desire does not take any “time” from a Spirit standpoint. It only takes time for the part of a Spirit being’s consciousness that decides to be involved with an illusory identity.

Your illusion is at a point where it involves becoming more conscious and recapturing your Spirit identity. You want to heal the perceptual gap between two seemingly incompatible worlds. We can see that there must be both a particular kind of activation of a minority of our total consciousness which experiences a suppression of a larger portion of our higher consciousness, in order to achieve this.

This activity, which we have taken on as Spirit beings, begins with a kind of segue from Spirit experience to “physical” experience. During this bridge experience, we experience birth into the physical world, pain and limitations that are new to us. These are simultaneously reflected by our entering into very specific states of consciousness that coincide with these experiences. The limitations we encounter create a strong identification with a superimposed timeline.

Due to our new inability to successfully do more than one thing at a time, the rate at which our desires can manifest becomes greatly slowed down. Like being stuck in a traffic jam, our new desires just have to get in line and wait their turn. Fulfillment has to be physical, so it takes more time. Furthermore, we can’t push through any desires that would pop the physical illusion until we have worked through all our current-physical-embodiment-related desires.

Another limitation is the way in which physical experience downplays the mental experience while engaging more consciousness in the “environmental” experience. In the physical, experience is bound up in body and environment related experiences. The physical nature of the body and environmental consciousnesses is tied up in how unconscious those particular forms of consciousness is, and therefore how limited they are. The fluidity and comfort of the Spirit environment comes from its being much more conscious than this “physical” consciousness that we are forced to deal with.

So, we can see that although we are not in a different world from Spirit, the limitations imposed by our own desires severely limit what we can experience in the physical setting. The good news is, however, that we can greatly speed up the rate at which we work through our physical desires.

When we get to the point that we sort of “get” what the physical is and how unpleasant it is, and how it is really devoid of any meaning or value other than showing us that it is meaningless, we develop a desire to be done with it and return to Spirit. Contrary to seeming logic, returning to Spirit does not necessarily involve dying, although it might. Because the physical experience still happens in Spirit, we can go directly from physical to full Spirit experience without death.

I know that this sounds farfetched, but give your mind some time with this idea. When your mind can really handle it, play with the idea a bit and ask yourself what attachments would keep you in the physical experience. Understand that you can finish out your physical experience as a Spirit being, if there are particular things you feel you need to do. You don’t have leave the physical “world” once you are a Spirit being.

These ideas can really make us feel confused and upset, because they are asking us to actually believe in what we have been learning at a new level. When we try to puncture the “third wall” between non-confrontational philosophy and “reality,” we run into a feeling of embarrassment, as if we have betrayed ourselves by pushing these ideas so far.

But, at the end of the day, we will have to diverge sharply from mainstream beliefs that we have taken in and accepted as facts if we wish to move forward with our learning process. I wouldn’t suggest that you share these beliefs with others unless you feel that they can really handle the answer you give them. To say “reality” is an illusion is almost the definition of insanity in our society. But wisdom holders from thousands of years before Christ said it, and they are still saying it today. It’s just tough to realize that you have been by degrees drifting so fundamentally away from mainstream beliefs, and thus mainstream culture.

If you watch TV, you see the same plots played out over and over again. A common one is heroism, which is always marked by violence in a battle between “good” and “evil.” Because you no longer believe in violence as a solution, nor in goodness that operates without Truth, you can see that it is essentially a kind of propaganda that is stating that the violence of the world demands that you become violent in return. However, even in these fictional shows with a propagandized message, the heroes are tortured people because they occasionally end up with innocent blood on their hands. They have to be willing to be occasional villain who murders or ruins lives in order to do the “good” they want to do (that involves violence).

You, on the other hand, neither have to be a violent person nor a villain. In doing so, you will be accused of being a coward, lazy or self-serving. But the Spirit frame that you must ultimately place on your experience in order to see the Truth causes you to be completely outside these old ways of thinking. They become irreconcilable, and almost unexplainable to people still wrapped up in old ways of thinking.

This course ultimately demands that you become a Spirit being in the physical world. This happens by degrees. All it really demands of you is that you become who you already are in Truth, except with a higher degree of lucidity than you had before.

Exercise: Eliminating the Perceived Differences Between Physical and Spirit Being

In this exercise, we will consume (with consciousness) our perceived separation from Spirit as a physical being. This is a very broad exercise that we will use right up to the end of our physical experience. It will take us the rest of the way home.

We begin by getting relaxed and having a pen and notebook handy. Visualize a large hourglass in front of you. All the sand is in the upper chamber. As a grain of sand falls into the passage between the upper and lower chambers, it temporarily stops. At this point, the grain of sand, which represents a “physical” perception of yourself and the world, comes to your full attention. You automatically and without effort know what that perception is. Mentally speak to yourself the nature of this understanding. Take notes if you want to.

Now, allow the perception (grain of sand) to fall into the lower chamber. At this point the perception changes and becomes a Spirit perception. This happens within you automatically. Mentally think-out a description of this new perception as you did the last one and make a mental comparison of the two. Write it down your thoughts if you wish to.

As an example, I performed this exercise and saw the large hourglass before me. A grain of sand, representing one of my physical perceptions, fell into the passageway between the upper and lower chambers.

I immediately understood that the “physical” experience is full of tension between forces that have competing interests. Essentially, there are many both silent and aboveground wars going on between different elements in the physical world and the physical self. This war of competing desires expresses itself as a constant state of tension, internally and externally.

Now, I allowed the grain of sand to fall into the lower chamber. I immediately sensed the complete absence of negative tension in Spirit. I saw that all things in Spirit experience exist in perfect compliment to each other, rather than in opposition to and competition with each other. The needs of one person and another are complimentary and synchronous in such a way that every desire is fulfilled. This is possible because all beings are ultimately in Truth one being, and so the multiple identities in Spirit are perfectly coordinated.

Where the physical tensions fall away, they are replace by happiness and love, as well as a perfect peace. Everything in Spirit exists to satisfy and fulfill everything else in Spirit. It is both perfectly logical and sane as well as allowing all beings to be who they truly are and pursue what they truly want in Spirit at all times.

If you can, try to perform this exercise occasionally, at a minimum once per day. Even if you do only one grain of sand per day, that will be a huge progression in your understanding.

If you have a specific physical problem you are contending with or “reality” that you are having trouble seeing in a Spirit light, you can specifically express it as a grain of sand. Visualize the entire process for it and experience the Spirit answer to it. For more complex problems, you can certainly break it down into multiple grains of sand for a more complete examination.

Good luck with this process and remember that as you develop your desire to be truly done with physical experience, it is not about dying, but living. You use your life as a means to serve yourself, and in doing so to serve others, by getting back into the Truth, where you truly serve both. When you serve the Truth/God, making that commitment to yourself each day and actively doing an exercise like the one above each day, you are making that wish a reality. Best wishes!
